Professor Usherwood was an awesome person to listen to. All you had to do was read the book and look up the answers from the study guide she gave you and do 1 book report. Its a shame she retired and I will not get to take the next course with her.

Very bright and knowledgeable professor! Lectures are very interesting, and there is little homework. Gives you a study guide for exams, and all you have to do is look up the answers in the book to know exactly what will be on the test! If you have to take history, take this professor!!!

I love taking history with Professor Usherwood. she is so intelligent and educated. she knows so many things about the world, that is hard not to pay attencion in her class. That is why I took all my history classes with her. she grabs your attencion and she is funny as well.Is not mandatory going to class, but surely everyone wanted to go to class

Penny Usherwood is one of the most interesting and intelligent teachers I have had in college thus far. She has been there and done that, and has much more to offer than the book alone. She wants you to learn and tells interesting stories that keep the class from dragging like some tend to do. Five stars.

If you want to know more about Iraq, this is a great class to take. But if you want to learn the material as stated in the textbook, take a different teacher. Also, it always felt a little degrading when she said, "you should know this. smart people would know this."

She is an AWESOME professor. She is a social historian and tells stories about professors that no other professors talk about. Dont have to remember dates at all, and her tests are so easy! She gives study guides for everything!! I loved her!!!
