Comment:
This class requires too much work for a business core class. Theres homework, two exams, one group project and one individual project. Projects are easy, tests are more on the difficult side but theres a study guide and you get a cheat sheet. Very knowledgeable professor but most of his stories are irrelevant.

Comment:
Homework, an individual and group project, midterms, and finals makes up your grade. The homework and projects are easy and can help back up your grade in the class if you do poorly on midterms and finals. The study guide for exams are vague and can be more specific. Lectures tend to be dry and monotone, which can cause students to feel lost.

Very long and slow lectures but he is smart and knows his stuff. A long group project, 2 tests, and some solo assignments make much the course. They're all feasible and he is a very fair and quite lienent grader so put in the effort and you'll do good!

Professor Galka is a nice guy who is very knowledgeable but I learned nothing from his lectures. More interested in telling stories about himself. Individual and group projects were easy but tests were difficult. You basically have to teach yourself everything, but he's an easy grader.

Prof. Galka is a personable, affable teacher. He does not teach the material straight from the book, but instead relates core marketing concepts to real-life scenarios. He gives hints about test material during lectures PLUS provides a study guide PLUS lets you bring one sheet of notes. It really is up to the student to pass the tests.

Comment:
Never take this class-you will do horribly on the midterm and final, even if you read and memorize and bring notes on the entire book, the math problems on the test will be different from whatever youve seen and the equations given to you will be irrelevant. Not to mention the fact that his lectures are completely disorganized and almost useless.

Bob is a really cool and funny guy. He worked in business for a long time and is now teaching. He gives great lectures that are always interesting and provides good examples of the concepts in class from his work in the real world. Quarter long group project, Smaller individual project, Midterm, Final. I would 100% recommend taking his class again.

Not a hard class at all, just make sure you practice from the book and youll be fine. Midterm was a little harder than the final but not bad . He gives extra credit in the end and drops lowest quiz . Definitely not a tough grader, I recommend taking him !

So there is a midterm, final, quizzes, an individual project, and a quarter long group project. His lectures are long and not usually on what is in the book, he focuses on his real life examples, yet we are tested on book stuff. So as long as you study the book and don't mind sitting there for 1.5 hours while he tells stories, I would recommend.

this professor will waste class time giving some stupid examples from his life. I much rather have him teach the class what they need to know than give useless bragging about his life. hate him, hate this class.

Worse course I've taken in my whole program. If you have a life outside of school, I would recommend you DO NOT take Galka. Case studies felt disconnected from everything else. HUGE group project. Could use one page of notes for Midterm and Final, but there is so much to know that, one page is not enough. Lectures were boring and dry. Awful!!!!!!

Prof Galka has a lot of industry experience so he is knowledgeable. Sometimes lectures seemed long but he relates the subject back to real life so the ideas are tangible. You have to read the book at some point to get a good grade on the test.

DO NOT take this course, his lectures are long and boring and his powerpoints had little to do with the mid term and final. Mid term and Final were difficult and you will have to study from the book on your own. Avoid the class if you can.

Professor Galka has excellent stories and real-life experiences that really help drive course concepts home. The assignments are relevant and they resulted in my having a better understanding of the material. I feel like I got my money's worth in this class. The book is super helpful-- use MyMarketingLabs!

I loved each class and that was really helpful and educative. I studied for pleasure even though is a required course. I would take that this class again and for sure I'll miss Bob as a professor. He's there for you whenever and whatever you need.

Bob went off topic constantly. The class was boring, although a handful out of the multitude of stories he told were interesting. Simulation was intense and I am glad I do not have to take this class again. He was nice, and I did well in the class, but I prefer a different teaching style.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. Lectures were boring and test is nothing related to the lecture. I never got a B in my life and ended up with a B in his class. One page of notes allowed for midterm and final. Buy the text book because you might be better off staying at home and read the book by yourself.

Prof Galka brings a lot of real world experience to the classroom, but I did not appreciate his teaching style. Midterm and Final were open note and straight from the textbook. The case studies did not seem really connected to the rest of the course. The marketing simulation was really fun and time consuming. Half of the course was group work.

This is a basic marketing class do not expect more than that. Took it online, was well structured and organized. Extensive use of text book but also supports with case studies and videos. Grades fairly, has weekly textbook chapter and video quizzes with casestudy, a final exam and a marketing audit assignment. I would take more classes he offered.

Took the online section. Quizzes and final exam come directly from the book. (No midterm.) Large amount of group work. Professor's grading was hard to predict. Seemed to reward quantity over quality. Gave each group 100 percent on final project.
