a lot of work. He required zoom meetings for the lectures, where he explained and taught fairly well, and he would answer any questions you have. He is willing to help you and give good feedback. a few exams, LOTS of homework, occasional classwork/ graded kahoots, and a final which was fair. He is a good professor, just a lot of work.

Professor Martinez makes Calculus much less daunting. Although the class is challenging, his flipped style of teaching allows you to learn at a pace that is comfortable for you. As long as you do all the homework and pay attention to the videos, you will be able to succeed in this class even if your math skills aren't particularly strong.

A lot of homework (reading notes, vid lecture notes, practice problems) which is a huge percentage of your final grade. He has a flipped classroom style of teaching, which Ive taken before, but this is on another level. If you have to resort to this class, Organic Chem Tutor on YouTube is your best friend and stay on top of homework.

this class is the reason why I have depression Makes no effort to actually help you, just tells you to go to to the tutoring center. Barely lectures. His flip-style of teaching is honestly not how a professor should teach math.. you literally have to teach the subject to yourself.

I took Professor Martinez's class in Statistics at CSUN (Math 150) in 1980-81, Fall Semester 1980. He was funny, warm, professional and seemed to really care about the students in his class. He understands that there were many Humanities majors, and I was a Psychology major. He is VERY cool and creative! :)

I like the FLIP style of teaching when it comes to math. There was A LOT of outside work, I dedicated many hours a week outside of class working on lecture and video notes. However, as long as you stay ontop of the lectures outside of class then you will do well. Come to class ready to do homework and ask questions, he's always willing to help.

Would not recommend. His online classes are incredibly disorganized and you can very easily miss assignments. He doesn't use Canvas, so you'll receive emails that may seem confusing to you. Other math professors use Canvas and very carefully detail everything that is due, I would look to see if you can find a professor that does.

For the online class there was no interaction, or lectures by him. There were a few videos to help with some of the chapters, but none if them go over the more trickier material. If you can teach yourself, you'll be fine. If you're someone who always has questions, don't take this class. He gave three opportunities to take the final exam.

I have never thought that online class could be so disorganized. The due dates of homework were randomly. I didn't find an postexam work because it was on the bottom. There were not a clear due dates for the projects. There was just one stupid project for extra credit. Because of those mistakes I was out of two points for A. I felt forgotten.

Don't take him please don't. I can't believe he makes us learn everything online and at home. Doesn't lecture in class. He has us do homework in class while he sits at his desk. Yes you can ask him questions and will answer but there's a very long line. Class average for 4th test was an F if that helps. Doesn't explain anything or respond to emails

I regret choosing to take this flip style class :( The teacher basically doesn't do his job that is TEACHING! it's all online and you're on your own. If you can't do calc by yourself, then DON'T ENROLL IN THIS CLASS!!!

Just not good. Makes us learn everything from home but we do some homework in class. I am terrible at teaching myself the material. The homework load is completely unrealistic and assigns about 45 problems due next class. Problems take a minimum of 5 minutes each. Take another professor if you can't teach yourself and if you work full time.

There is a REASON that I did not choose an online class. To receive a syllabus that says that I have to learn things online rather than in class is very concerning, especially when I was planning my whole schedule around this. It should be clearly stated on the schedule if this is an online learning class. Some people can't afford to risk it.

Great professor, flip style is actually a nice touch and a great way to learn the material. Is always there to help you with any issues. Hard tests, but if you study hard, you can easily pull a low A.

Is a good teacher. He knows how to teach and he knows what hes teaching. He usually look for different ways to explain to help everyone to learn. You will need to put some effort, come to class, do homework, take notes, work well with a group. He might talk about a couple or weird topics (politics, creation vrs darwing, dont argue he will stop).

This professor really does not dedicate the adequate amount of time to his students as an individual. He replied to my emails days after the request. His response for questions was go to the tutoring center not office hours.I took him 2x and by 3% he still gave me a d he declined an extension, e/c & rec I not take him again. What prof does that!?
