Comment:
Professor Grabiner lectured (mumbled) while writing (chicken scratching) on the board...it was very difficult for me to understand what was going on. I love math, but this class was very hard to be enthusiastic about. He's very eager to help out but isn't great at explaining anything.

Favorite professor I had in college. I took 32H, 131 and 132 with him, and every time appreciated the organization and presentation of the material. The classes are demanding, and I see why they might not be fun for someone who doesn't have a mathematical mindset. If you're afraid of your own mediocrity, don't take his class.

explains things with mediocrity, not in detail. glad to help during office hours, tests were ok but his teaching methods are somewhat dry.

Okay, I had already taken this course in high school, and I swear, if I hadn't, I probably would've failed this class. I learned more from the text book than from the class itself, which is *entirely* lecture. Barely any time to ask questions, and even then, he'll barely answer them, then get right back to lecturing. Stay away.

I had him as a professor a few years ago, and he was a disaster. Totally killed my huge interest in mathematics. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

he talks the entire time. i just sat there the and wrote down everything he said. 32H is all about learning to write proofs it seems. he's a nice person, but i don't think he's a very good teacher.
