Considering the fact that students pay to attend school, she should be less concerned id they choose to go on their phones. She has been teaching the same content for weeks on end and shes really stretching out the course. I dont recommend taking her class unless you dont mind being called out in the middle of class.

I highly recommend CHYS 4P39 or 3P39 with professor Marinos as she is very knowledgable and her lectures are very interesting! She makes the information a lot easier to understand and provides a great explanation of the YCJA.

Assignment guides were very unclear and when asked questions she got very snappy. Not a good professor to ask for help.

Marinos is an overall good prof, she really interacts well with the students and tries to make a boring class interesting! Overall, the course was pretty difficult, the midterm was hard, but there are only a few assignments. the course itself is not that interesting unless you are into policy/sociology.

Comment:

Great course and great professor! You can tell she has a passion for what she is lecturing and she is very approachable and helpful. She gave detailed lectures (sometimes repetitive but it helped to connect themes) and was available for help and to discuss the course. Would definitely take another one of her classes again.

While I found her lectures to be mostly dry and repetitive, I actually remember some things from her classes, which I can't say about too many CHYS courses. She was fair, consistent and approachable, but the format of 4P38 was not very good (group presentations every class, no teaching on her behalf except for the first class).

I really didn't like the class itself. The seminars are pointless because you just sit there and presenters just tell you their interpretation of the articles. Also, unnecessary to have an outside source for presenting. Prof however, is very clear and organized.

In a class that is supposed to teach Canadian policy, the course is almost over and we STILL DON'T KNOW what a policy IS!!!
