Bar none the best econ prof I've ever had. Presents many views OTHER THAN MARX in HET. Brought current events into Micro through various assignments. Good application of concepts to real-world problems. His assessment of non-Marxist arguments requires students to provide strong logical structure and supporting evidence in their essays.

In class he seems pretty fair and nice, but I got an F for disagreeing with him. We interpreted Marx differently, so my paper got a low score, because I was "wrong". He even got really anal and picky, pointing out my spelling mistakes, while making several spelling and grammer errors in his commments.

he doesn't prepare us students for the tests at all. i'm about to take a test that comprises half my grade and all he's told me is to study "everything." way to at least give us a worksheet to prepare, ahmet. if only you actually had. on the other hand he is awesome and turkish.

Very decidedly only interested in getting students to agree with his interpretation of things; will allow conflicting comments to be voiced but promptly shoots them down and dismisses rebuttals. Long-winded. The accent doesn't help either.

He was unclear, unfair, and unhelpful. Not to mention his rude comments in class. Plus, his grading isn't actually based on the formula he gives out. I went to his office for help several times and basicly he told me to try harder. Arabic is not an easy language and he makes it even harder.

depression class because of the subject mater. Ahmet participated in discussion and because of the topic marxism sometimes came up, but he dosn't shove it at you. respectful, and suportive. no more of an agenda than any other social science teacher.

ahmet knows his stuff, and those who write him off as a crazy marxist have never paid attention to him. his abilitiy to get behind raw numbers and find out what they really mean is uncanny (see his great book on GNP and GDP).
