Maryann is an amazing professor. She is incredibly kind and very accommodating, but is also willing to push her students to do better. I went into her French class not knowing a word and left two semesters later with a strong grasp on the language. Maryann's seemingly endless patience and sense of humor made her class my favorite.

Maryann was an excellent professor and adviser for me. If you have any questions, go to her office hours or talk to her after class. She doesn't always seem warm in class, but she wants to understand your situation if you need help academically or personally. Her French Food and Literature class is especially fun - and delicious!

Maryann by far was my favorite professor at Simon's Rock. She's fantastic. The best language teacher I've ever had. I took her beginning french class in my freshman year and it is now my major. She knows how to help you understand without giving the answer.

Everything Maryann does is fun and interesting, but also challenging. I took lots of different classes with her at several levels. If you're taking French or Sem, take it with her. Food is one of her passions, as well. She's a great professor and human being who will support and assist you in everything you do, though she's no push-over.

i went into this class ENTIRELY not prepared. maryann really worked with me to make sure that i got a good grade as long as i was willing to put in the effort -- she allowed me to do a lot of extra credit assignments. she's also really fun. great professor if you're willing to put in the work. there to help you, but VERY fair.

I've taken Soph Sem, 2 semesters of French, and the trip to France with Maryann. She is very kind, intelligent, and interested in her students. I recommend all of her classes. I encourage all the French students to go on the trip to Tours with her. You'll have lots of fun.

What a wonderful professor. Reaffirmed my love of foreign language. Incredibly clear and effective. Has a dry sense of humor that not many seem to detect. Will be nice to one and all, but knows when you're ****ting. Grades you on YOUR abilities. Guided me even with non-academic matters.

I seriously think anyone who doesn't like Maryann must be completely defective. She is the sweetest person on Earth, is a brilliant teacher (and even better advisor!) who helps you with anything you need, she is mind-bogglingly smart and the most organized and professional person I know at the Rock.
