Comment:

The class itself is very boring but I think that's most data comm classes. lectures are not that engaging, he just talks. Exams are similar to reviews but you do have to study from the powerpoints a bit. Programming assignments are a bit difficult and confusing to do but he's a lenient grade and understandable. You'll do fine if you take him

Comment:

He's a good professor, knows his stuff, but his lectures are just boring. He also is not very loud and has an accent so it is hard to hear him and focus on the lectures. You can pass the class by just reading the ppts of the lectures. Midterm and final and the study guides are practically the whole test with a few group assignments.

The guy is Expert in his field. Understand the review papers and the A is guaranteed. He only needs to raise his voice a little bit to be able to hear him. He cares about his students.

I've had Wijensinha before for Networking (not NetSec) and it was the same thing. Long lectures and like two or three tests. A few assignments, one term paper. He always gives study guides for the exams that are basically the exams and that's hella nice.

Great Professor. Really cares. Always willing to explain and explain again. Willing to offer you so many opportunities to get a good grade; I'd know, I'm an awful student. Highly recommend this teacher.

It has all been said already really. Boring class, get a good group because it's all the class except for tests, he always ends class late. The 2 tests are easy though, 90 % of what's on the study guide is on the test. He knows his stuff though and will help if you have a question.

Excellent professor. Explains concepts very clearly and is willing to answer questions with great patience if a student does not understand something. If you want to learn about computer networks, this is the professor to have. He's a good guy and extremely smart. Just make sure you choose the right group members and start early on the project.

WOOOORST EVER. I'm so angry that there's a CIS 350 starting next semester. I stopped paying attention at the beginning of the semester. Pick a good group at the beginning of the semester b/c you'll be working with them a lot. 4 assignments and semester-wide project (paper and presentation) with the group, but the midterm and final are individual.

Well like someone else said the class is terribly boring (it is CS) he doesn't make it any better he teaches str8t from powerpoint. But the book he used was very clear, the class is completly done in groups meaning the 3-4 hmwk assignment and group proj... pretty easy grader youll do fine if you read the text

Good guy, can be boring but it is CS. Felt bad for him because he geninely tries to help and all people do is cry about everything. Tests ok, just read the book and be able to write code. He's fair and can code it faster than you can think it.

Wow, I got an A- but I feel like I could have gotten a D...So his grading is pretty liberal if you show you learned something. He is absolutly impossible to learn from...its hard to tell when he is lecturing or just talking to the floor. I dont know about this one, Take it for a B but dont take it to learn.

Yes, I agree that he is smart. But he is NOT a good professor. A good professor wouldn't use a PDF of powerpoint slides, and pace back and forth in the front of the room while talking to the floor. He also has a thick accent. If I hadn't had prior knowledge of networking, I don't think I would've passed.

this guy is always late for class. tests you on material not studied in class. he was a subsitute since the actual prof was sick. Taking his class is a waste of money and time. You dont learn anyhting. He just runs the slides and does'nt explain anything. exams are extremly hard. Doesnt tell students what is important for exams. He is a fake.
