Nash is out there for sure - flossed during an exam review... Easy class though, and she definitely cares about the subject. Pop quizzes are a thing, so be careful about skipping class. You don't really need to buy the textbook, easy to get an A without it.

I felt this class and Professor Nash exemplified what GenEd classes should be. The class wasn't very difficult, but that wasn't the point. I learned a lot about an area I absolutely never would have otherwise. I often think about the topics and readings from class. Great class!

Alice defiantly knows her stuff. She unfortunately is very unprofessional. Instead of teaching the material she spends time every class talking about how important her class is, and even though its a gen ed she believes it should have the same if not more work than other classes. She also calls people out for headphones and laptops often.

Great Professor. Dedicated and Knows her stuff. Very understanding and willing to work with students. Gives pop quizzes! If you do well on them you don't take a final. Lots of reading from textbook and other provided sources. Extra Credit opportunities. Easy grader if you put in any effort. Discussion group counts heavily but easy if you read.

Although I don't love history, Professor Nash's class was good. A few papers, lectures weren't bad, and if you did well enough during the semester you don't have to take the final! Suggestion:Read textbook for first half of course, do well on the midterm. Stop reading text book because you don't have to take final.

Assigns very long readings every week, but you basically don't need them if you go to lecture. Lectures are not heavily based on the textbook and were fairly interesting . Wrote two papers, can opt out of final if you take enough of the in-class quizzes (which are easy, basically just for checking attendance).

Nash's lectures were more interesting than not. Discussions mandatory. She gave some of the questions on the exams ahead of time which was helpful. When it comes down to it this is a Diversity U/History double gen ed and its pretty simple.

Alice is an awesome professor & person. She really cares about the material, and it shows in the way she teaches. I've never been bored in her class before. Can honestly say I learned more in a 100-level history class than in most of my 300- to 400-level ones.

Interesting topic and nice prof but a TON of reading. She gives you midterm essay topics ahead of time so if you go to lecture and her review sessions it's manageable. If you don't like reading 50-70 pages from M to Wed not worth it as a gen ed. Discussion is mandatory as well as lecture (you can opt out of final if you do well on her pop quizzes)

This class was super cool/interesting. Lots of extra credit opportunities BUT the tests are really tough, all essay. And the papers are just as difficult. I went to every single lecture and was still sort of lost. It's hard to pinpoint what exactly is important and it's hard to catch exactly what she is saying because her slides are mostly pictures

Your experience in this class depends entirely upon your TA. My TA was a very tough grader. There is also more reading for this class than for any class I've ever taken. The material is interesting, just be prepared to dedicate A LOT of time and stress to this class.

There is a lot of reading and prep for disc/lecture. There are 2 major essays, a midterm and a final. Participation and attendance in discussion are needed to get an A. My TA graded nicely for me and for the midterm you get two topics ahead of time (chosen at random for exam) and you can opt out of the final if you answer in-class quizzes correctly

She is a harsh grader as well as the TA that I had. For the 2 essays we had to write for the class, I received C's on after following the criteria and rubric that was set out and feeling confident about my papers. Really big on connecting every topic of the class together as a whole. You'll probably read more for this class than any other class.

Alice is really nice and really wants to help her students. There were no exams at all which was great. Grade was based on attendance, a big paper, and a couple little assignments. She was a pretty easy grader, I'm not a good writer and I suck at history but I still got an A.

this was actually a pretty interesting topic, but the lectures were tedious at best. discussions were helpful. most of all i just want to say that she assigned a book about sexual assault and gave absolutely no warning which i have a huge problem with. if The Roundhouse is assigned and this is a problematic subject for you i would pass on the class

Professor Nash was very helpful and a fair graderno knocks on her as a person. On the other hand, the course required more reading than my 400 level courses so be prepaired. The class itself is not hard, just time very consuming. I could see this class getting tough if you had more than a full load or if you're new to college.

I took the class online, and was interested before going in, but became frustrated by the amount of work and reading you have to do vs. how much you learn. Three hours of lectures, reading from two textbooks and additional content per week and I feel it is more important to read and listen to everything rather than form true opinions and learn.

Dont go to lecture, only go to discussion.. Thats what I did and i got a B+ all the "tests" are take home essays and there are 2 of them. the final and the midterm. Also there are only 3 other assignments that are take home as well.
