Survey I is manditory for all art majors, but you will be glad it is when you take this class. Extra Credit, Great book, Online resource, and excellent instructor. Very knowledgable, but really interactive. You will be lucky to have such a great professor. Test are the hardest, because it is from recalled memory. Study! Study! Study! Great Class!

I love this lady! She cares about your problems, very laid-back. She makes the material as easy as possible and uploads the power points online. We have even had hot choco in class! Great stories and personality.

Gill is the best thing that happened to the art history department since paper. She'll upload the slides on her website if you ask, but do not rely solely on these... take good notes. I only studied the night before everytime, but made A's. She is super smart and you will love her stories. As an added bonus, tons tons tons of extra credit.

very nice lady...she doesn't like it when people chitchat while she is trying to teach, and she WILL ask you to leave if you keep on and she is annoyed by it...she give bonus points, and really wants you to do good...

Dr. Gill is one of the best professors I have ever had. I enjoyed her class immensely, and found it engaging. She made materiel that I thought would be mundane extremely intriguing. She is very intelligent and really nice to look at to boot!

Enjoyed her class! She has pictures and all to document her knowledge! Study the slides. Take notes EVERY day and then study those before the test. Got an A in the class. I think she's an excellent teacher and I'd recommend her to anyone. What you get out of it is what you put into it!

Very knowledgeable professor. She is extremely documented and wants to convey as much information as possible. The student is supposed to have some basic general culture type of knowledge to follow through; if not, the student should read in advance. Dr. Gill is a real asset for ASU.

Nice person, bad teacher. Most of your grades on her tests are based on slide identifications (usually 12). The slide identifications will be based on the artist, name of the sculpture, owner (patron), what the sculpture is made out of, what is a characteristic of the sculpture, and the time period of the sculpture. Test also include MC and defs.

She's the coolest person from all of my college years. I'm a senior now and I still remember her from freshman year in her honors FAV. She makes art fascinating and interesting all over again, and I love art! Take her! You will learn so much about life and art! Her slides are tricky, but study and you'll be fine! PS-she goes on field trips! Fun!

I love her! I like the subject to begin with, but if you study your notes and images for the test and sometimes read the book, she is fine. Very interesting with great stories. For every day you miss class 3 points are deducted from your grade, but she will excuse you if you tell her why you missed.

She was an excellent teacher and really had a passion for what she was teaching. Since she has been to the places she talks about in class, she has very interesting stories and pictures which makes it very interesting. Study the pictures and your notes taken in class & you'll do great. She's totally reasonable and awesome! Loved her class!
