She is impossible to hear and makes each class as boring as possible. Don't worry about class participation because she never waits for any answers to her questions. She prefers to analyze pieces in depth rather than focus on any particular concept. Just get really good at figured bass and do all the homework and you'll be fine.

Dr. Carr-Richardson is VERY nice but she is a lame teacher. She asks plenty of questions but if no one answers within 15 seconds, she answers her own question. The pieces we study are great (Mozart Jupiter, Brahms F minor Clarinet Son), but every class is dull aside from the listening. She gives about 100 pages of thick scholarly readings per test.

I LOVE DR. CARR-RICHARDSON!!! I don't know why everyone dislikes her so much. To be honest, I was scared to be in her class, because of things I had heard. But I'm so glad I had her. I think she is an excellent teacher in terms of getting the point across very clearly. I learned a lot in a subject that is not all that easy to understand. There is a lot of work, but she teaches the class very well.

if you take the time to do the work, and come to class, and pay attention in class, it's pretty easy. some of the tasks are a little daunting, but it is college and we're supposed to be dealing with this. i thought she was great, and had her funny moments too.

She does not treat the class like adults, she teaches very unprofessionally. She tries to make other people feel bad to make herself feel good and doesn't even teach, just humiliates people in class. Whatever you do, DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!
