I loved Professor Cohen's class. I took it for my PAF topical specialization and HIGHLY recommend it. I was always telling my friends about what I learned in class because I found it so interesting. I was feeling very overwhelmed before an essay was do so I emailed him, he totally understood and gave me an extension. Great professor!

Cohen is a real history genius. He gives really informative lectures. 2 papers, a midterm and a final. They are all manageable as long as you read what he tells you to and actually attend lectures. Isn't mandatory to go but you'll enjoy it if you do and do well in the class. Great guy, very understanding and kind. Highly recommend

The content is tough and there is a lot of it- Professor Cohen wants you do to well, but you do have to work for it. I enjoyed HST 385 and his lectures, and he helps as much as he can to prepare for exams. You definitely have to study and read, but the class is good for history majors/minors or those interested in law.

I had Prof Cohen for HST 300 - US Capitalism and HST 385 - US Legal history This man really knows his knowledge around anything based on US history. His lectures are really engaging and offers a lot of information that will be used on tests, so I recommend going to class. absolutely great prof.

Easily one of the best professors at Syracuse. Super approachable if you need help. Extremely knowledgeable about what he's teaching and gets students into it as well. Class is very interesting, the course readings are enjoyable. This class would be tedious and boring if taught by anyone else. Plays music Awesome, enthusiastic, and interesting guy

Cohen was one of the best teachers I have ever had at Syracuse. Was super helpful when I had questions and when writing the 1 paper we had for the semester. Really wants everyone to get an A. I recommend him to anyone taking history classes at Syracuse. Seriously one of Syracuse's finest.

I had Cohen for 102 and 386 and absolutely loved both! 386 was better just because of the content but Cohen knows his stuff about both and is very enthusiastic in his lectures! He won't let you get by without doing the work but he's really helpful with any questions you may have and excited to talk about the content. My favorite prof at Syracuse!!!

He knows how to speak and keeps you interested throughout his lectures. Each lecture is sort of like a story but in his smaller classes he stops the story to discuss with students. He wants to give everyone an A. I e-mailed him the night before a paper was due explaining that I wouldn't be able to hand it in and he told me to hand it in when I can.

Stand up guy. Class is boring. But the class reading simply because he asks for specific references to the text on the midterm and final. Not a lot of work outside of one major essay and the midterm and final. I definitely recommend this class or any class taught by Cohen.

Professor Cohen was great! He was engaging, helpful, and always blared music before class which helped me wake up. Lecture is mandatory. I got mono half way through the semester and he gave me a week extension on a paper no questions asked. My TA sucked but Cohen made the class worth the time.

I agree with everything everyone else has said. He's engaging, looks like a very Jewish Andy Dick, and will regrade anything you don't like how your TAs graded. Very helpful and nice on a personal basis.

Great guy and teacher. Very interesting lectures and great speaker. Grading is left to TA's which can be tough. My TA was a very hard grader, but still enjoyed class.

Cohen knows his stuff! His lectures are somewhat tedious but he does his best to keep students interested, at it usually works. The grading is all on the TAs, so hope you get a good one. Coen's a class act, and 102 is worth taking if you're willing to go to class for a good grade (attendance/being familiar with the material is KEY).

very boring lecture, going would be pointless but they do take attendence so bring something else to do. Two papers a mid term and a final did not use anything from his lecture just used the books and readings to study. TAs grade everything
