Super unorganized.Does not teach in a manner that is easy to comprehend. He's smart but it's clear that teaching is not his forte. His test were open notes but honestly his notes were a joke.He would take such long & confusing routes to figure out a problem because he thought it'd be good to know but honestly it was super irrelevant & waste of time

Whatever you do, DON'T take prof Durta. He is too smart that he doesn't know how to teach. It's so true that he makes you feel stupid when you ask him a question. He is super hard to follow and is the most unorganized teacher I have ever had in my life, not worth the money we're paying at Loyola. Just try and avoid him is you can

He is one of my favorite professors. I had him for math models. He presented mathematical concepts with the history behind them. The class is not hard if you pay attention and do the work. I would definately take him again.

Can't read his handwriting; he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the material being covered; and he doesn't answer questions in a professional manner. Ask him a question and he belittles you before finally giving you about 25% what you had asked him in the first place! Take someone else and avoid this guy!

I'm not a math person but was genuinely interested in some of the concepts presented in this class. It was interesting, tests were easy and the final was open notes. I skipped a few classes but I was fine. Lots of review sheets, sometimes goes off on tangents but eventually gets to the point in an understandable way. Funny but slightly weird...

I loved math, I was really good in high school, even took AP calc.. And then Durta. He was the meanest teacher, almost made me cry called me stupid and useless . from 35 students 10 left, only 5 passed. I had a personal tutor too and even then he emailed me saying i did progressively worse. DONT TAKE HIM ITS NOT WORTH IT.

HE was completley unhelpful. The worst teacher I have ever had. At least i passed his class. Cause all the calc teachers at loyola are horrible. Just to give you an idea how bad he was, i had 30 students in my class at first, and than by the time we took the test 6 were left. 2 dropped out after the drop date because he was so bad!!!

I have no idea why so many people bag on Durta on here! The class was interesting and fun and how freaking often can you say that about math?! He delivered the material in an easy to understand manner and I laughed in every single class. You can't ask for much more than that. You do need to show up and pay attention but that's the point of school!!

He is a terrible teacher, smart, but horrible at teaching other. His tests dont make sense unless you love calc. he expects you to know Algebra to the fullest. expects you to have taken precalc or calc before. and its stressful. If u fail one test out of 3 expect to fail the rest. HAVE FUN! When you talk to him he looks away.. in cirles.

This professor was absolutely horrible. Out of 35 people in my class, all but 6 withdrew. He seems as if he is very out of it and doesn't have the best attitude for those who don't understand Calculus. Decided that Pascal's Triangle should be Pascal's Ziggarat...

I am paying close to $30,000 a year, I expect to get a professor who is going to teach, not talk about music and tell us where we can go see bands and get drinks. He is ALWAYS late for class. The tests and reviews are hand written and it sucks. This guy can't teach, nobody can follow his lectures, he is always on a tangent. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS

He would be a good music professor, since that's what he seems to enjoy most. He teaches classes at UNO as well and barely has time to speak with students. He is very rude. If I pay 30,000 a year in tuition I expect my professors to be able to meet with me when needed. If not I would pay a quarter of that price and attend UNO myself.

Durta is a good math teacher. He clearly covers everything in class, and chooses subjects that anyone can understand. If you don't come to class you will not pass. I promise that you covered this stuff in high school. Its not hard. You just have to be willing to think. His humor keeps things interesting. I loved his class. I thought it was great!

durta is very enthusiastic, but the level of interest/effort of the students in the class i attended was outrageously, offensively low. all things on exams WERE very well covered in class, and outlined before the exam, tho he tended to cover material from outside the textbook. give effort=no problem. he widened my interest in math.

he may be a little cute in a quirky kinda way but he is so buzzed out in the head. he tries cuz he wants you to understand, but trust me, no matter how hard you try, you can't learn anything in this class. i shoulda dropped it when i had the chance.

Speaks too quickly, always unclear, never helpful, gets frustrated when questions are asked. Goes through the material too quickly and then structures tests poorly. Like most of my class, I dropped.
