My absolute FAVOURITE Prof!! She is very caring, and easy to understand. I loved her lectures! She was also very comical. I laughed quite often in her lectures. She is a real sweetheart and I am so glad I took her class! I had a death in my family and she was very supportive and accommodating.

Not a good professor. She is a lovely person, but not a good professor. She may have been years ago, but now she is scatter-brained, easily distracted, goes off topic a lot. There are questions on the tests about herself. Lectures are a joke and then tests are much harder in relation. If you are here to be EDUCATED, do not take this class.

Terrible prof…. does not explain anything and then when you complete a test or assignment she will tell you what she was expecting AFTER making it nearly impossible to receive a good grade. She also uses her own biases to mark and if she does not agree you will do badly. She is the most confusing, unorganized, and unfair prof that I've had here.

This prof seems to have a great interest in this topic, which makes for a good intro class. She uses dynamic ways of teaching which helps keep the class of 60 focused. Her passion and dedication to her subject made this one of my favourite classes. I'm pleased with her teaching style and i believe her stories add to the lessons. I recommend her.

Not a fan of this prof. She uses her own biases when marking projects, and gives bad marks if she doesn't agree with your ideas. VERY unorganized. I never had a clue what was going on in her class (& neither did she, it seemed). Her lectures were always over at least 30 minutes early. I feel like I learned nothing. Made me hate research.

Absolutely terrible, I can't believe that she has been receiving such nice comments. She lacks common sense and logic. You know a professor is bad when the assigned textbooks are much more interesting than the lectures. Anyone who thinks analytically should maintain a safe distance. We spent two classes learning how to draw a simple family tree

Not only is the course essentially a repeat of Intro to Anthro, Powers is a poor lecturer. She will consistantly stray from the topic at hand and will almost always inevtiably end up at the plight of women in the world (which is important, just not what i signed uop for) her tests are incredibly easy to pass with no reading - easy A. Bad prof.

Absolutely wonderful. I came into this class already having done lot's of feminist theory and thinking it would be a breeze, but it still expanded my horizons and got me thinking. As well, she made the material very accesible to those who hadn't given feminism a thought. Very engaging and caring.
