Amazing lecturer with very organized but fast paced lectures. Lectures may seem fast paced in the beginning of the term but as you go on you adjust quite well to his lecturing speed. Exams are very fair and he tells you exactly what to expect (no tricks). As long as you do the practice exams you will do well. Funny at times as well.

Best professor I have ever had! Peirce gave fair (but not easy) exams and really made an effort to recognize that people came from a wide variety of disciplines. Make sure to put in effort to thoroughly understand the material right at the beginning of the class (Frobrenius series), do the homework, attend lectures and you are guaranteed an A!

Peirce was the best math professor I've ever had at UBC. His in class examples covered everything important that you would need for the exams and homework. If you showed up, took notes, and did the homework afterwards you're basically guaranteed an A. Also, his exams were fair but not super easy, very few tricks

Peirce is clearly passionate about teaching the subject, and really emphasizes important points over and over again. He's a amazing lecturer who gives clear examples for each concept. Also shows cool excel and Matlab programs. Lots of practice problems and past exams are on his website so you never run out of problems to help you.

I found the hardest thing about the class to be finding god sources to read about the material, since there was no textbook and the notes were difficult to follow. Nevertheless, I'm very glad I took the course with him, since he covered very useful material, and was glad to help when asked.

Really awesome prof. He's super smart and has taught this course so many times that he's got it down perfect. The course is well organized and all midterms and exams follow the same template to you're not to be surprised. Really cares about how students do.

Well-spoken and funny. He can get "excited" and fill out chalkboards at sonic speeds, but otherwise he is as clear as can be. Material is straight-forward and his mannerisms make lectures all the more interesting. There are mountainloads of awesome and helpful prep material for exams - Do it all and you're set for an A. Also, his accent is amazing.

Great prof! Tests are totally fair based on the material he teaches and he gives tonnes of prep work (Previous midterms, practice questions, in class examples etc.) I looked forward to his lectures when I had them. Do the homework and write out the examples and you can do really well.

Best prof I have ever met. Follow his lectures, and make sure you spend some time practicing questions, then you would be fine. Clear lectures(sometimes he introduces things that are hard to understand but these are not for the exams ), very helpful during his office hours. Exams are fair.

Very excited about his work! For this DEs class, most of lecture time is introducing problems, then working through examples. The homework is mostly exactly what you see in class, same with tests. Text is totally unneeded. He makes it quite easy to learn all the strategies just by following the examples in class.

Anthony pierce definitely loves his subject but lectures are difficult to follow and difficult to find connection between the different topics introduced in this course (math 257). online notes provided are good. exams are fair enough, but homeworks are hard.

Awesome prof. Really clear, answers any question thoroughly, and explains things really well. He is the only math prof I know of that organised tutorials for this class, and he even made 2 to make sure all the students could make it. Assignments are good too, very well organised.

Super increbile prof. Organized lectures, posted online notes, full explanations, plenty of examples... can't ask for more in a math class. There was a bit of a midterm controversy because there were only two questions but he fixed that by offering this alternating grading scheme which lessens the impact of a 'bad day'. Cares about his students.
