Changed a 200 course to use a 400 lvl course textbook and exam on the 400 lvl course. Class is not working with the new flipped classroom , where class glosses over a few slides and does not go over problems. Helpful and nice but unrealistic in changing a 200 lvl course to a 400 course when students lack prerequisite.

My unexpected favourite prof. I didn't want to take 255, thinking global issues were unsolvable, and the conversations thereof trite and overdone. Here comes the but-every lecture was succinct, he strived for us to share his passion, is kind and considerate, and guys-kindly shut up about his accent. I'm now scouring for more courses he's teaching.

He is a very nice professor who is interesting and care for students. The course material is also intriguing however you need to be ready to read and watch videos. No need to worry about grade since he might shift a portion of the final to the midterm (or vice versa) if you had better grade in one than the other.

I hated this class. I though Professor Kotwal was boring as all hell, and as such I almost never went to class. It is entirely possible to teach yourself the entire course using the textbook, and I found his lectures useless even when I did go. That said, it was a very easy course. So I suppose I have to thank him for that

Dr. Kotwal has been a close personal friend for 20 years. I was taking his class and when I got very ill, he went out of his way to help. I received an A- in his class and I am now a teacher. He is a very good teacher and his only really instructional flaw is that he cares too much for his failures. Very educated, well traveled, and caring.

Answers to exams are practically given to you in assignments and readings. He will prepare you sample questions for midterms and final reviews, copy down answers, 90% the same stuff. Just memorize and you should be able to get an A. TAs can be strict though.

Mr. Kotwal is a really amazing prof! You need to put the effort in to do well in his class; watch the film & pay attention to the study guides. Loads of his q's are based off of myeconlab questions. Do that & you should do reasonably well in the class. Mr. Kotwal is a very nice man who really cares about his students & wants them to succeed.

Prof Kotwal is an amazing professor. He is clear and really cares for his students. Meet him in his office hours and he'll help you out a lot. Before taking this course I heard a rumour he only talked about India-that rumour is incorrect. His class has a lot of breadth and depth. He expects his students to put in a reasonable effort. He's a really nice marker, and he really wants you to actually understand the concept rather than just regurgitate things from the textbook. Do myeconlabs and read the book to do well
