She is very knowledgeable about anthro--she makes you reconsider your ways of thinking and brings a fresh take on what is thought of as a "dead science." She encourages students to attend office hours. Beware, if you miss more than two classes she lowers your final grade an entire letter!

Anu is brilliant and she's very friendly. The class had a fairly heavy reading load but only two paper assignments. Anu's intelligence is not accessible to students; she uses big (often made-up) words and conveys her ideas using abstract theories. She proselytized more than she taught and there was no diversity of opinion in the readings.

Fantastic professor, she is nice and accessible inside and outside the classroom. I highly recommend taking a class with her, just be prepared to do your reading and participate. If you do, I guarantee you'll get a lot out of it.

Professor Sharma comes off as intimidating, but is very helpful and encouraging. Her views/readings are very interesting. She is a fascinating lecturer. She is capable in the leading of her class discussions.

she knows her stuff but seems to have little interest in knowing anything else. if you like discussions that span the range of political views or opinions, you won't get that in her class. she favors people who clearly adhere and contribute to her agenda. if you disagree she'll simply dismiss what you say and not spend any time on it. frustrating!

I've heard a lot of people complain that she is intimidating and mean, but i don't agree. she encourages you to meet with her one on one, and its really obvious that she prepares a lot before each class. she is very smart and i like how she repeats herself in different phrasing to really get her point across. great professor.

She's wonderful, challenging, and will force you to feel uncomfortable and to be critical of the way you have always viewed the world. A constant, constant challenge. Anu has an agenda and she'd be ashamed to hide it - if your "opinions" differ from hers, you may feel silenced. But it will be worth it to challenge yourself to broaden your mind. She changed my life.
