I've taken Ben Jones for Life Drawing 1 and 2, and Drawing and Comp 2 and will take him for color theory this upcoming semester. As a painting major, I think he has a lot to offer in terms of discipline. I think his biggest flaw is that he is out of touch with contemporary theories in art. You will learn a lot from him, don't take him too seriously

Ben was my professor years ago. Visited him recently and he is even better than he used to be. I've always said that the toughest teachers I've ever had were my best teachers. He certainly is in this category. You will be better artists after one of his classes. Don't miss out.

This was definitely not my favorite class to go to, but I did learn something from Professor Jones. He expects a lot from you if you're an art major so if you want a good grade, expect to spend a lot of time on your work. Some of the things he did seemed off topic, but if you stick with it and do the work, you'll be fine.

You will either love him or hate him. . . NO IN BETWEEN. He pushes you to be a better artist, but he's an **** about it. He has NO people skills in class and talks**** about the younger generation ALL the time. . but all old people do that. He's chalenging, and I think he's helpful, but he's a jerk.

Anyone who thinks Jones is the "smartest" prof in the art dept. is obviously a cretan! He only impresses the average to below average intellect and uses scare tactics to camoulflage his own inadequacies. I've never met a more sadistic professor. And for those of you who feed off it, there's something wrong with you too. I have always been a hard worker, and enjoy taking on a challenge, but this man is unfit. Six hour classes with no breaks, continual student beratement, and contradictions on what he expects-he made me hate drawing. And leave NJCU.

He is VERY strict, almost a dictator in the classroom. I did learn alot but he sometimes humiliates students. Many students left during the semester. he even had an argument with the janitor and even one of our models walked out on him. Yes he is smart but lacks peoples skills. HE will make you work every second. NO BRAKES!

I looooove Ben. If you're looking to learn and be challenged, then he's the best professor to take in the fine arts department.
