Comment:

Dr. Evans is a funny, smart, slightly batty woman who really is a delight to have in class. She is a tough grader and gives kind of arbitrary feedback. If you have her in the fall, she'll give you extra Halloween candy for weeks after. She is a weird mix of strict and lenient, but just pay attention and you'll be fine.

Comment:

She is an interesting professor and her motivation made me want to go to class. Her class was interesting for both Hum I and II in the summer. She definitely motivated me to research beyond the scopes of the class. 2 exams, 1 paper, 1 test, and 1 group presentation. Definitely my favorite class in Geneseo and would love to retake it.

I had a great time taking humn 2 with Evans. The lectures were very interesting and participation was encouraged but not mandatory. It was definitely my favorite class of the semester. There were 2 tests, a final, 1 paper, and a small group presentation.

Honestly I don't believe Hum should require as much time as she asks of her students. While many Hum professors understand that you have other work pertaining to your major, but Evans expects you to go above and beyond in order to succeed in any sense of the word. I had straight A's in HUM 1, but have a failing test grade in her class

Comment:

Took hum I and II during the summer with her. Has a lot of enthusiasm and seems to enjoy what she's doing. This class made me think differently and has made me see life in a different sense. She's not opinioned and she wants to know what you think. Easy class, I enjoyed it definitely. Test is fair, 1 essay, 1 Group project, and final.

You can turn in a draft of your paper for revisions before the final copy. Her tests are not too bad as long as you read and went to class. She is very picky for the oral report and points out your weaknesses in front of the class. Pretty easy to get a good grade in the class as long as you clarify assignments. Your pride may take a few hits though

I have had Dr. Evans many time as she is the primary French professor and French is my major. This class was particularly interesting because it underlines her specialty (Medieval French lit). I highly recommend the course and any class with Dr. Evans: you will be required to do a lot of work but it is completely worth it.

great professor. i took french 301 with her last semester and now i am taking french 302 with her again. she gives a lot of time to finish paper; sometimes pass the due date.she is very clear in her explanations and gives candies.

Professor Evans is one of my favorite professors at Geneseo. She is a really nice person even if she is often intimidating. She is really helpful in her office hours so go to her whenever you need it. The books are really good (but if you need to, you can always find the English versions). She is hilarious and you will laugh every class.

Dr. Evans is great. She actively tries to help you learn the material and she's also very understanding if you are having difficulties of any sort. She knows her stuff and has a great sense of humor, which definitely helps class to go more smoothly. I'd definitely recommend taking a class with her.

Evans is one of those professors who actually cares about her students learning French. She will go out of her way to help students and edit French papers. The composition workbook is absolutely useless but she does go over it in class so make sure you do a couple of the problems. Evans is also very hilarious during class.

I took this class in Paris and it was awesome! She is very engaging in class and really likes discussion. The first test was easy but the second test was a bit harder. The essays are easy but the IDs can be tricky- guess when possible. Do as much reading as possible! She knows if you have done it or not!!

Mme. Evans is a good professor, I enjoy her class as much as I hate doing the work. It's important to keep up with the exercises in the txt bc she goes over them in class. Shes very clear about what is on the tests so you know what each section is and the format (fill in blank, sentences etc) Shes entertaining when she acts out what she says also

She was nice for the first week, but she got frustrated with the class for not understanding bc we move so fast, then she has a miserable attitude all the time. If you voluntarily participate in class and answer wrong she is very rude and shoots you down. Shes inconsiderate to any self esteem you may have. Itmakes you notwant to try or participate.

Ive had Dr Evans for almost every course she teaches, and I think she is brilliant, interesting, and engaging. I suspect that those who disagree have forgotten that we are in college to learn. I wish her the best!
