Comment:
Class is snail-paced, lectures are long and boring but you will learn what he's trying to teach you. My biggest issue is with "Logic and Programming" itself, which is basically a philosophy class. Expect mostly predicate logic and a TINY bit of PROLOG (which is useless anyways). Do yourself a favour, take a different elective that will be useful.

Fastest lectures I've ever had. Bill gives glorious lectures that keep you on your toes at all times with his puns and jokes. He also incorroporates Greek mythology into his leactures which is ssssuuuuppper awesome because everyone loves it.

Really bad. Some people shouldn't teach, he is one. Don't get me wrong, if you want an easy A, take the course! However, if you don't want to waste your time and learn something new, do not. It is all an easier and SLOWER rehash of CSC 225 and Math 122.

If you want an easy A+ (not everyone might agree with me here) then take this course. But you will learn next to nothing. No notes provided so attending class is an absolute must. Exams are open-book. Improve your general knowledge about AI as there will be questions on the exams that you have never seen before and do his practice exams.

Comment:
T/F questions on his exam are impossible to prepare because they are too vague and random. Most people seemed to have lost a lot of marks in this section of midterm which lead him to scale scores up. Avoid his class if you are not a theory person.

Apparently this guy is pretty smart, only prof I've had with his own wikipedia entry. You get out what you put in make sure you ask questions. Some people complained because he doesn't hand feed you information he's more old school.

Comment:
Dr. Wadge is a slow lecturer, which is just as wellâ€" the stuff he lectures on in CSC 330 is often very abstract and difficult to understand. He does respond well to questions tossed at him, so be sure to ask them! Overall, not bad, but be sure to make sure you understand what he's saying while he's saying it. Tests are pretty easy, open notes.

Worst prof I have had so far. Writes sloppy notes on the board and then spends the entire class standing in front of them. Explanation of course concepts were poor to adequate. Gives boring lectures. Posts next to nothing on course site. Covered only half the material he gave in the outline. Avoid him unless you are prepared to self teach.

He's good at lecturing but I didn't really learn much from the course. Very little material was covered. The assignments are easy if you're good at math.

Most students don't get this professor. He's not a textbook professor. You will get out of his classes what you put in. Don't be a passive student! This guy knows his stuff, but takes a ~very~ laid back approach to teaching it, and assumes if you want to know something, you will ask it. He's very "shoot from the hip", and this will not be to everyone's style of learning.

Absolutely the worse prof I have ever come across. Not knowing what the course was about, yet not even using the suggested textbook! His notes were literally wiki pages. All he did was complain about computers interfaces and websites. It's the end of term and have not learned anything. I'm leaving this university because of this. Just ridiculous!

Covered about half the material that was supposed to be covered in the course, and what he did cover was hardly relevant. Complete waste of time and money taking this course from him.

Comment:
Wadge's intro to AI is a joke. Besides defining what a game is, his graph searching was covered by the pre-requiste 225, his logic covered by required csc math courses, and his "wow aren't Google translations great" lectures were insubstantial. Content was severely lacking; 4 pages of notes covered the entire semester, 1 was all history of AI.

wow this guy is clueless. each day must take him by complete surprise. he manages to talk for the full lecture time, but after all is said and done he hast said anything of importance or relevance. his online notes are the best, pictures of the blackboard taken with a digital camera (unlegible)... one question remains... how did he slip through?

I didn't get a bad mark but I thought the class was a disaster. This may be the worst CompSci class that was taught for that semester. He isn't a bad person but he wasted everyone's time. He doesn't seem to know anything about the subject being taught.

Could have covered much more material. Spent too much time explaining the assignments and the ensuing marking screw-ups and complaints. I thought everything was easy (but somehow didn't do great on final exam long answer). At least I have the very basic UNIX shell commands down, now what?

I don't need to add any comment of his bad lectures. It's a simple fact. After final finished, he is still trying to figure out his marking correctness of assignments. Ppl trying to defend Bill are hypocrites. Fortunately they're few. They should learn how to be truthful before going to any school.
