By far one of the worst teachers Ive ever had, has a heavy accent and confuses you more when you ask for help. Would not recommend taking this class.

Disorganized, gets confused in her own lectures. Teaches with very strange methods most math teachers don't use. When students ask her a question she answers with something totally unrelated. Tests are nothing like her study guides. The worst professor I have ever had.

Professor Liu is tough, her lectures are long, and sometimes hard to understand. I got much more from the course if I reviewed the section to be taught ahead of time, and helped a lot with the language issues. While she is tough, she is very perceptive to what you are lacking in, and very willing to help outside of class times. She knows her stuff.

She is a genuinely caring person, talk to her and you'll see. She has a thick accent. I fell asleep a lot, she is not very engaging. Her quizzes correspond directly with her practice problems, they're basically the same. They're difficult but practice them for quizzes, you'll get an 'A' for sure.

I was honestly a little afraid to take her for this course at first due to previous ratings, but to be honest she isn't bad at all. Her accent is not a big deal, and after one lecture I was used to it. She is always willing to go over more examples or to answer questions. Yes she grades tough, but do the homework and actually study, you will pass.

Although of her language problem, she used to give a good clarification of a problem. She was really helpful, but you have to be careful enough for the tests. Her tests are not so tough but every mistakes count. No bonuses.

Tests over stuff that seems entirely different from lecture. Extra credit for showing up, so go to class, you will need as much extra credit as you can get! Doesn't use online grading, which is annoying. Difficult to understand due to accent and jumbled thoughts. Jumps around between examples and problems. Seems nice but not the best teacher.

Bing Liu is a good person overall, but I had a really hard time actually wanting to go to that class. Honestly, I have no idea how I got an A in the class because I had B's like every test and assignment. But she gives extra credit for attendance, so SHOW UP TO CLASS.

She goes through examples, but sometimes jumps around or gets a wrong answer. Her accent can be hard to understand at times, but you get used to it and your using numbers anyways. She is a kind lady and is willing to answer questions at the start of class or in office hours. There are weekly quizzes and normally 3 exams and a cumulative final.

So I had Bing Liu for my first class at SVSU, diff eq. At the time i thought it was horrible but diff eq is a hard subject in itself. Looking back, she was an excellent teacher with a bit of a communication breakdown due to her accent. I would gladly take her again.

You honestly can't understand her at all, and she talks so quietly! The problems she does in class have nothing to do with the lesson and the problems she assigns don't help with the quizzes. I dropped the class because it was so bad and I've already taken a Calc class in high school!

I DO NOT recommend this professor. She is not a bad person but she is horrible at teaching. It is really hard to understand her, and she grades really hard. She takes off a lot of points for simple errors.

She is the worst teacher I have had in 3 years of college. Her English-speaking abilities are terrible and almost incomprehensible. Dropped out half-way through the semester because I could not understand what she was saying during lectures. I do NOT recommend you take her.
