Great teacher. I wish he could have taught more of my classes. Lectures are given slowly and clearly and he gives lots of examples. His class notes are a big help and save you money. Thumbs up for Dr. Grone!

I actually really enjoyed this class. Admittedly, sitting in class can be quite boring since he's just going off word-for-word what's already in the package/custom notes that you have to buy (which is extremely cheap). However, the material is not that difficult if you actually try. Do the homework and the tests will be a piece of cake.

So boring! Goes straight out of the book. Definitions are important. Memorize them cuz on each test, the 1st question has like 10 definitions that he grades tough on. He's arrogant. If you're unsure about something and ask, but are wrong, he will act like you're an idiot. Tough class, but big curve. Looks like Santa but taller and not as nice.

Lectures can be boring at times. Tests are FAIR, but can grade hard. (takes off a lot of points for simple mistakes) There's 3 midterms and 1 final. HW is not graded, but HIGHLY-RECOMMEND to do well on the tests. FINAL was way easier than I expected. Ended up w/ a B

He will be back in Spring. He curves so it isnt too bad, but he grades hard. Thought I had a C going into the final or actually a D by numbers, and ended up with a B. If you copy down what you dont know while following along, it helps. Take him for the curve.

He straight up writes down what you already have in front of you and expects you to understand him. I took 254 a year ago, so I had trouble at first, but the tough thing is that he is so boring because he just speaks what he is writing, without explaining it in "english." I am a Math major, and the Engineers did better than us Math guys. Terrible.

I don't know what everyone else is talking about, this class was a piece of cake and Dr. Grone is a nice old man. I went to class maybe 30% of the time and got an A easily. If you don't like his teaching style then just read the textbook and teach it to yourself, it's not that hard.

I can't stand sitting there for 50 minutes. I am a good student who is patient, but some days I just walked out. Poor old santa. deep down he's nice but lord, he blocks the bored and I get so frustrated. I learned all of this in hs but still failed the first 2 tests.I could teach this class better. AVOID! I hated math to begin with, but he made it unbearable. He makes the math way more complicated than it is. He blocks the board so it is really hard to copy everything down. He hand writes the tests, they were awful. Luckily the curve was huge in the class and I got a B

Dr. Grone is absolutely my favorite professor. He is clear and direct. His explanations and examples are thorough and help explain topics effectively. If you do poorly in his class you are simply lazy and not capable of taking responsibility for your own learning.
