Explains well, gives practice tests online, always available in office..helpful....but. She is rude, arrogant, derogative, and short-tempered. No bonus offerings, never checks homework for points.10 tests and a final to grade.Criticized students in class, yelled at class, extremely inappropriate.

Good and Bad teacher...Explains one clear cut way of how to do things, which is beneficial. Yet, she is arrogant and rude to some students. Gives practice tests online, and willing to help anyone. You have to pull your weight because she does NOT give points, bonus, extra credit, etc.

Mrs. Helms is a wonderful teacher. She is very clear and will work as many examples as necessary for you to learn. She flew through the material but still covered it well. She also has practice tests online and has given out practice tests to prepare you. Some people seem to find her a bit rude, but they're just taking it too personally.

I took her for trig. I made an A but this woman is straight up just an old angry c*nt. she constantly calls the entire class stupid without directly saying it, but she might as well. sometimes she gets mad at a student for something and stares for 2 mins like its elementary school. she is worthless, and a disgrace to eductation. please retire!

This teacher was a complete disappointment. I went into this class wanting to learn and work on becoming a great elementary teacher but I had to drop because of her sarcastic and rude manners. She made it IMPOSSIBLE to learn without calling us stupid. She personally called me out in class and told me I was a sorry excuse for a teacher. DON'T TAKE!

Ms. Helms is an aweful teacher. If I could get out of her class and not be behind I would ASAP. Im in her class for The Real Number System for Emementary teachers and we have barly opened the book. She tell us that we will be bad teachers because some of us has not learned discipline. If anything she sould push us into wanting a career.

I had this summer and I think she is okay, she have her pet peves and like things to be in order and she love for you to ask question. Yes, she get upset when you don't, but asking question is for youo own good, It will pay off in the long run. So I think she is wonderful in her own way. It's what you make of her class and not what you think of it.

I took her for Trig a few years ago. She would become upset when nobody asked questions during class. I for one never asked because I didn't need too. It is silly of her to try to force her students into becoming a part of her class. She should try to not let it bother her and avoid getting angry over such an issue because it is unprofessional.

I checked this site before taking Ms. Helms class and the mixed reviews led me to believe that a lot of it was sour grapes. After taking her class (and doing well) I can say that she does have a problem relating to the students and can be quite harsh with her comments. She did single out students for public criticism. I would NOT take her again.

She's a really good teacher. She has a website with old tests so you know what kind of problems to expect on the test. This is college and you're expected to work for your grade. The ppl that didn't do well in that class was because they didn't try hard enough or they needed to take an int. algebra class.

I have to agree with the positive reviews here. I had her for Trig, and she was completely understanding even when I totally bombed a test. She just expects you to be in class, pay attention, and try to learn. Nothing else. Heard horror stories, all were wrong - I just figure those who don't like her didn't try.
