Dr. Walters is one of the coolest people I've ever met; however, he may appear distant at first. He is funny and approachable, and at times remarkably insightful. I would like to be his aid, in order to learn his real personality, because I find it difficult to believe he not a genius. While very professional, he is charming in an old school way.

Beware if you take your own Christian religion seriously. Whether you follow theology closely or not, he does a really good job at convincing you about what he sees as facts. His class was extensive with a lot of GREAT material, but I felt like he could be kind of one sided and too sure about some facts that DO have different interpretations.

Professor Walters is great! He truly wants his students to pass his class. As long as you show up to class and turn in the work that he assigns, you will at least get a B. To get an A in his class just put in a bit more work such as correct your papers as best as you can. I highly recommend going to his office hours, since not many do so.

I would not mind spending an entire semester with Brent Walters just asking him questions and learning what he knows. The smartest teacher I've ever had, Walters is not pretentious but honest to the facts. I find him funny, cleaver, insightful, and kind. I highly recommend him as a teacher. He is not afraid of controversy and listens well to others

4 quizzes and one final that are pretty tough, they're are all on a curve so thats a plus. He is very passionate about the topics, but the lectures are so long. There is no book but a pricey CD that he has and is essential for the final and term paper.

Prof. Walters is the best teacher on this campus. I just graduated after six years on this campus and he was my best professor of the lot. He is approachable and humorous, and for my money he was the best bargain at the university due to his breadth of knowledge and skill at delivering it to student familiar with the material or just learning it.

I had Walters for HUM100W and HUM85. HUM 85 was really easy, read the articles, and do the prompt questions a week or two into the semester. No final for either class. Show up once in a while since its a once a week class, he remembers faces. Other than that, sit back and just listen, he tends to tell very amusing stories and goes off on tangents.

Incredible teacher. Very clear assignments and clearly passionate about his subject matter. Dates and assignments are quite clear. He has no bias and clearly is well versed in history and language. His lectures have a great deal of focus on original intent. Possibly one of the best professors in my college career.

The most intelligent man I have ever spoken to or known. Loves pop quizzes when attendance is low. Answers any question regardless of relation to topic or obscurity. Very knowledgeable & interesting to listen to, he doesn't mind if you respectfully challenge his idea. Will challenge your "knowledge" on religion and expand your worldview.

I just ran into Prof Walters this semester after taking his course last year. What a nice man. He answered my questions even though I was no longer his student and he was just as charming and funny out of class as in it. If he were only younger ... anyway, I just wanted to say that he is genuine out of class as well as in class.

Prof Walters opened my eyes to the nature of education and on being a teacher. Throughout the semester I was amazed at his approach to the topic, because he was very prepared. He is very approachable, but I recommend that you meet him at his office; he will treat you like family. SJSU is lucky to have him, and I plan to take everything he teaches.

While I was initially intimidated at his knowledge, Prof Walters's explanations and written prompts helped a lot. I had no idea how much work went into college-level research; you sure learn in this course. If you want to be a better writer this is the class to take, but not if you are lazy. I found him approachable and charming (but professional).

The readings for this class were mostly from academic journals which are not the easiest to digest, but they opened my eyes to the value of a true liberal arts education and for that I'm extremely grateful. I only wished his lectures stayed more on point since he often ran out of time before finishing his lecture slides for the day.

Prof Walters is clever in his approach to HUM90. He challenges students and his powerpoint presentations for each lecture look professionally done. I took his course due to a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. I learned more from him than all other teachers last semester. He is witty, smart, and yes handsome (but in a geeky sort of way).

Professor Walters is witty and brilliant. I did not know at first if I liked his approach but in the end it was the only one possible. His looks grow on you also; he's quite handsome. More important is the breadth of his knowledge; it is unsurpassed. And I have taken lots of courses on this subject. His class on Bible history is amazing.

He's a very enthusiastic teacher. The tests and quizzes are a bit challenging because there's so much material to memorize. I didn't find the class interesting.
