If you have to take this class, take Dr. Maes! Lectures are kind of boring but what lecture isn't boring? Only 1 quiz and no tests, with a take home midterm and final exam...which is easy...the lowest grade I saw on each was an 85% So, take Maes and have fun!

This professor is so boring it will drive you insane! The material this professor presents is more dificult than what should be taught in an introductory business course. However,this professor is a good person, a quality instructor and has an incredible amount of knowledge.

Dr. Maes is a very good teacher. He teaches many aspects of business and law, many of which will never be found in a book. He has a caring and kind hearted personality and makes you feel confident in the business world. I recommend him to anyone thinking about going into business or bus. law

He is more then a teacher..he is a mentor. Intertwined amongst the numbers, sentences, and calculations of this class he expresses little lessons of life. He is hard if you dont study. He is easy if you do study and get to know him outside of class. I got an A.

The homework he assigns has absolutely nothing to do with the lectures he gives. Homework is all math, which he can't even do himself. Always gets confused when explaining to the class. Harsh grader on homework, which he doesn't really check just writes a random number on your paper. Dont take this guy. He's bad.

Very unorganized. Nothing he says in lecture relates to the homework he assigns, leaving students confused when assinments are given. Homework is pretty much all math, which Maes knows nothing about. The book doesnt help much. easy grade but not great teacher.

Hate to say this about a good guy BUT DO NOT TAKE FIN 201 WITH MAES. He is a confused professor who is never clear. He once stated, "I don't teach this material very well." Enough said. On top of it all, the book is terrible and leaves a lot of info out that Maes sometimes forgets to explain.

Had him for BLR 202 and BLR 222, very clear in directions, conveys a lot of information but doesn't make you feel stupid just cause he's a lawyer. Has somewhat high expectations but rightfully so, he covers the material very well. You may have to work for an A, but if you do you'll learn A LOT and isn't that why we're here?!?

Maybe he should stick to law, because he's not good at this. He can't even explain a problem to the class without getting something wrong. When you ask him to clarify something, he gets even more confused. His lectures are so unorganized. It's impossible to stay awake. I thought this class would be beneficial, but it turned out to be a waste.

Let me set the record straight, Maes aims to ensure that you retain the information. Briefs are easy and the quizzes as well. Just get the coursepack and read the material. If you have any questions, he is usually available to talk. Very fun class, but then again he is a fun teacher.

Maes is a great teacher. He is extremely willing to go to all extents to be available to you. The case briefs are the hardest part of the class, and they are not that difficult, just time consuming. I highly recommend taking him as a prof. exams are take home and you have a week to complete them.

Great professor, helps you out in any way he can. Knows his law for sure! It is an interesting class and I would highly recommend him for a prof!He is a nice guy, and sometimes can go off on a tangent but is funny! Should do just fine in the class just do your work and papers!
