I took Dr. Kwan for Organic I and II and it was the worst decision I could have ever made. He doesnt teach during lectures, but actually belittles and attacks his students for not studying well enough. He expects you to learn by watching over 30 hours of lecture video that you cannot interact with and then be able to take a quiz on it. STAY AWAY!

Dr. Kwan is my favorite professor!! Organic chemistry is tough, but if you take his advice, you will succeed. He made me a better student because of his class. Make your own study guides to memorize the reactions, it really helps in the long run. In regards to studying, you reap what you sow. I recommend taking Dr. Kwan! Did I make that very clear?

This professor is literally the worse person you can have for lab. From his effort alone, it is clearly seen that he does not care about his students. He gives the most vague instructions. And when asking for help, he will take points off and NOT even answer the question. He is one of those professors that you dread of having. Avoid at all costs.

I absolutely can't stand this guy. His doesn't teach just plays videos he recorded in a previous semester, which are disorganized and hard to follow. He grades quizzes very hard. He is not willing to help his students and pretty much tells them they are going to fail in life if they don't understand what he is saying. He goes off on tangents a lot.

He doesn't curve. So when he tells you to study you better study. Lots of extra credit but you need to know the material front and back to get it. He lectures in class on how to study for his class. Take his advice in class (all of it) and you'll do well. He made me a better student. He's not easy but idk i kinda like him.

I can't stand this guy. Does not teach in class. He makes you watch videos he recorded during one of his summer classes, all of which are long and completely disorganized. You can hear the students in the background and he goes off topic A LOT. Plus, he expects you to practically teach yourself and does not help his own students.

Dr. Kwan provides a great foundation for learning the subject. Students who are willing to put in a lot of time reviewing this demanding subject will do well. He gives lots of bonus and practice exams, and there are never any surprises on his tests. He gives every opportunity for students to succeed. It's up to you to grasp them.

Master Kwan is the best! I had him for lab and lecture. He knows what you're doing in lab and how to help so you get the most points. Ochem is a tough class...if you don't put the work into it it's not Kwan's fault. His class is super easy if you take the time to study. DEDICATION!!

I had him for orgainic lab and lecture. He's strict & sometimes funny. Majority of his exams are multiple choice (which is very nice) and doesn't grade homework. Either you love him or hate him. Grades a bit hard on lab reports.

Kwan in the man!! anybody who doesnt do decent in his class is just not good at ochem or doesn't put in the time they should. If you're smart and have discipline, take his class. Tests are so-so but he gives A LOT of bonus and practice exams. Cool guy, funny, and keeps your attention!

I had Kwan for Ochem lecture both semesters, and Lab in the Fall. He is a MUCH better lab instructor (although he is paranoid)than he is for lecture. He lectures us, rather than teaching us. And he's not overly supportive of us either, tho he is willing to help. Basically he makes you think that if you don't have a 3.8, you will go nowhere in life

He lectures us rather than lecturing to us! spends more time talking about the importance of studying chem rather than actually teaching it! if you are the kind of student that can't do well without the teacher's help and explaining, don't take him, but if you are okay with studying by yourself, take him because his tests are not that bad!

Great teacher, very helpful. Very funny, keeps class interesting even at 8am. You get used to the accent, and he even pokes fun at himself for it. Study guides tell you exactly what will be on test, but it's up to you to prepare for it. He wants everyone to succeed but he won't hold your hand through everything

All over the place, very few understand what he's teaching. Concepts are not explained clearly and made more complicated than necessary. He wastes your time with tangents on "life lessons" instead of teaching. If you get him for lab you can tolerate him, but try not to take him for lab. If you get him for class good luck.

Dr. Kwan is probably my favorite teacher at JCU. He is so helpful and funny too. His lectures are easy to understand and he is very entertaining. His exams are predictable, and that makes studying so much easier. I'm sure if you take him you won't be disappointed. ;]

Good guy and is always full of energy. He keeps everything as interesting as it can be by always jumping around, yelling, and telling jokes...pretty funny at times. If you study and know the practice exams well you'll do great. The lab is worse than the class, only because he never wants to help with anything...its still not bad though

I hated organic chemistry lab. You can barely understand a word he says and he is rude. If you need to ask him a question he ends up confusing himself and you. Too much work for a 1 credit class. Take Nichols instead.
