Hes super sweet and very approachable, I struggle with anxiety and never raise my hand but I find it so easy to talk to him. Hes very friendly and understanding!

Film was my first year Elective last year, and honestly the most fun I had in any class, I am bias since I am a film addict but Patton is a great prof and cares about his lectures and easily makes it understandable, his tutorials are an easy 100% participation if you actually show up and engage in the conversation, Papers were just hard marked

Professor Patton is a wonderful and caring teacher. I really encourage people to sit down and have a chance to talk to him. Tough marker but outlines what he is expecting well. I don't see the arrogance that some speak of in these ratings. I think he's a solid prof and person

Film 1020! Always was there for students, Went over everything in class and then textbook was more just for enhancing purposes. If you show up and participate in tutorials you will do amazing, Nicest guy and really cares about students.

Terrible prof. I had him for crime lit and the class was boring, uninformative, and you could tell he never read the content. Not to mention his marking is brutal. I am an A student and with him those dreams are burned to dust. Spare yourself the headache!

Crime Writing was a new class this semester, and that might have to do with how utterly boring and difficult it was. The class content was dull, and we learned absolutely nothing. He is a brutal marker and doesn't care at all about how he marks. He also makes me super uncomfortable.

He's one of the coolest Professor's I've ever had and is so awesome. I took him for Intro to Film and after that class, I had gained a new appreciation for movies. He's really understanding and a fair marker. He also likes to take part in fun things, like Academy Award pools with students or something! He's so cool!

Amazing class and an amazing prof! He made the lectures so funny and interesting. I actually wanted to switch my major after taking his course. Keep in mind though that he is a tough marker so you definitely have to stay on top of your work.

He's extremely helpful and accommodating. He's also very approachable. He is a bit of a low talker, but if you tell him he will change that. He is kind of a hard marker as well and his exams are a bit difficult.

Funny teacher. Reasonable marker. It was a 16th and 17th lit class, so the readings weren't all exactly thrilling.. and I skipped a fair bit of them (I didn't even look at the faerie queen) but still did reasonably well. He's a nice guy and magically makes a 3 hour lecture bearable. Henry III's bio is and will always be a comedy to me now.

Dr. Patton is a brilliant professor. I thoroughly enjoyed this course. He put everything we studied into historical context, which is essential and very helpful despite what some students might say. All things considered, I think he is a rather fair marker as well. Hilariously funny and very down-to-earth, he was my fave prof this year.

Agree with him or you will not do well. Essay comments are generally useless, considering he just says if he liked it or not, and is not constructive at all. If you enjoy useless historical rants that are completely irrelevant to the text, than his courses are for you!

This guy is a jerk. We get that it's not a bird course, but that doesn't mean that you should just give students low marks for fun. I also went to him to try and improve my mark and after following his direction, he had the nerve to just slap a low grade on the paper without any comments. That's not how you help people learn, idiot. Lowered my avg.

It's not that he's egotistical, it's just that he's not very helpful. Like the other student, I worked extremely hard and went for help to get my mark up to an A, and he didn't seem to take much note. He's not the greatest prof, but you will learn a lot of interesting things in his class...nonetheless, I regret taking it b/c it lowered my avgerage.
