I'm sure she's a good person, however, I will never take another class of hers. If you walk in even 1 minute late, she calls you out in front of the class. If you try to talk to her about an absence or a quiz or something she is very snippy and immediately redirects you to the TA. She just seems very rude to me. The class is pretty easy though.

Prof. Larson is a wonderful professor. Her lectures are interesting and she conveys the material in a clear and organized matter. I don't know why she has some bad reviews; if you attend class and take good notes, you'll be fine. If you ever have a question, she is friendly and accessible in office hours. She also gives great writing critiques.

Extremely easy class. I only had one midterm that consisted of short essays. the final was a quiz that also consisted of short essays. There was only one paper required. If you pay attention and take notes, it is an extremely easy class. She does have a tendency to talk students down who don't agree with her.

Very tough grader. I took this course for a DEC, and it was a terrible mistake. The course was harder than I expected and the grading is very tough. I hated havign to write all the essays. In the other hand the TA for the class was extremely helpful. Go to his office hours and you'll surely improve your grade. Class was pretty boring.

I am a mathematics major and I still got an A in her class. what people say about her being boring is true. what people say about her talking down to students is true. she is too passionate about the material and takes it personally when you arent interested. if you take good notes and listen to lectures you dont even need to buy the texts. easy A.

Engaging and eloquent lectures. Extremely high command of subject matter and very interesting topic discussion! Keeping up with reading and subject matter will pay HIGH dividends. Overall...Excellent! Highly recommended!

I did very well in her. I got an A-. However, this woman, while very knowledgeable, is quite boring and cocky. She speaks with a very arrogant note and talks down to students when you ask for clarity. I would not recommend her, unless you need the course.

This Professor is terrible. Rambles on and on; lectures are so unorganized. Very mean person; talks over people. I think she is very intelligent, and should stick to research and writing. Stay away from this professor.

I enjoy learning. With that said, she is the worst professor I have ever had. She defines pretentious and makes it intimidating to answer questions in class. Lots of writing which is good because you don't have to read any of the assignments or feel bad about falling asleep during her useless lectures. AVOID HER IF YOU CAN.

Prof. Larson is one of the most helpful and wonderful professors in this entire school. She offered mad help during her office hours and during class. Maybe because the class was small (<20p), that we didn't have the bad experiences listed below. You have to do the readings or be able to bs well and be a good writer. She wasn't nasty, but nice.

expects everyone in the class to be history majors, and when she finds out you're not she doesn't like you. the readings were not hard but boring, and lectures were worse. she berated the class for 20 min about how unappropriate it was when noone wanted to respond to her questions. she would single people out from the back rows. horrible class.

The reading amount in this class was not obscene as compared to other History classes. The thing with participation is that even with a big class, if you want to present your voice you can do at least one or twice. And I can understand how demoralizing it is to have college students staring blankly at you. I really liked the class.

Expects everyone to have taken her 200 level Lat Am history course. Absurd amount of reading for a 300 level class. Throws too much info at you in one lecture and gets annoyed if you ask questions. If you need the J DEC, do yourself a favor and take something else!!!!
