The online class Material is pretty much self taught. Weekly online quiz, and 4 big assignments and a midterm. She doesn' really provide much group feed back. very strict in marking. If one area is bad she deducts marks heavily. ie. structure, format, content, are great. But grammar issues then she will may give u a barely passing or failing grade.

Excellent professor without a doubt. Assignments are relevant to course topics and extremely helpful for future courses. I see no reason for all of the negative comments. I would definitely enroll in another course with this prof.

This is by far the worst instructor I have ever had. I'm a A-B student and have never had trouble at school. Her marking is ridiculously hard, very rude, and she has no sense of what she is teaching. Really surprised she is allowed to teach.

Comment:

I'm surprised she has gotten so much negative feedback, I find her to be a good instructor. She tells you exactly what is expected of you, gives fair assignments and plenty of time to complete them, and even gives you full credit for online assignments just for doing them. Follow assignment instructions and read the textbook and you'll do well.

Terrible teacher, unclear when giving instructions. Take someone else for communications. Has spelling mistakes in her handouts and online instructions, yet criticizes you severely when you do the same. Overall just unclear in what she wants you to do.

I enjoyed having class with her! She can be a little rude, but she does have a sense of humor. Very easy to get a good grade in her CMNS 1118 class. You just need to get in her good side and laugh at her jokes! She will remember that when she is marking. She almost never takes attendance :)

I found Carell to be a terrible instructor. She starts all of her trains of thought clear and concise then trails off and mumbles. This of course lead to a inability to understand exactly what she is talking about, however, when asked she only refuses to repeat herself. She is also very rude, does not fully listen to the questions being asked of

Like people have said before she is very rude. Very critical and biased. My way or the highway attitude and mumbles incoherently. Way over her head and does not deserve to criticize essays as so (marks according to her preference rather than the essay's content/topic)

Just because she has all her degrees, it does not make her a good teacher. Very rude and tends to favor students. Heard from other students that she is an unfair marker and (possibly) discriminates against you for attendance, english fluency, and ethnicity. Overall, her classes felt impersonal.

This is a boring teacher. The class feels disconnected. Sometimes during lectures, she would slowly begin talking more quietly to the point where it seems like she talking to herself. Also, she is quite a strict marker. She is a messy marker. She critizes pretty badly--not very much consideration about feelings.

Horrible, horrible teacher. This isn't out of spite, I'm doing fine in the course, I just know when I'm learning and when I'm not. The final report for the class wasn't covered at all. She simply gives out a handout and expects you to figure it out, and I attended all the classes regardless of them being optional. Plus she was really rude.

This "teacher" is a teenage jerk trapped in a 60 year old's body. Who in the hell makes corrections using comments like "ARGH" and "grr" on term papers? Also, I consider it entirely unprofessional to include sarcasm and "well duh"s in your editing notes. Way to perpetuate the "I'm smart, you're dumb" standard of an **** teacher.

Boring lectures, isnt outgoing and seems really conservative in her movements and style. If you can think for youself and understand a story you should do pretty well. easy quizes, not much group work, and one hour out of the hour is optional so you can leave early. Not strict on attendance.
