Best history teacher I've had at Amherst, hands down. She's incredibly organized, succinct and articulate with her lectures. She's a tough grader, but she allows students to rewrite papers. Extremely passionate about her subject area (modern European history).

Very knowledgeable and intelligent, but she is, put simply, mean. She is very blunt, and talks down to students. Meeting with her one on one can be scary, and her paper comments are always the same- negative critique, then "good work". She is high energy, but when you talk to her you get a sense that she thinks doing so is a waste of her time. :(
