Not going to lie he's a bit strange, he does weird things and has some weird facial expressions. Although at first he put me to sleep every class, he kind of grew on me and eventually I looked forward to his class. He really does know a lot about his subject and his quarks are entertaining. Overall I'd recommend his class.

Would not recommend this prof to anyone!! If you ask him a question, he responds with a "that's a good point...anyways..." or a "that's a good question..anyways.." BUT NO ANSWERS!! EVER!! If you got up anytime during class he would humiliate you and yell at you infront of others... do not take a class with him!! waste of money and time!!!

First of all he is a very nice and cute little man! But i found i could not stand his voice, it would put me to sleep. Its pretty boring. Tell him if you have to leave early b/c he will yell at you in front of the class if you just get up and leave! Seems knowledgable but very boring and dry.

Worst prof ever. I'm not sure if he marks papers, but from what I heard he has a marker... never replies to e-mails and when you go to his office to ask a question, totally off topic. overall, a really annoying professor.

A very nice professor. Learn a lot from his classes. Respectful of other views. Answers questions well. Class isn't terribly difficult if you show up/pay attention. Books for this class aren't difficult reads but still very useful. Overall, a professor whom I'd take more courses with.

I took Technology & Society-a 2nd yr soc course. Novek is a nice guy, his class is quite easy (if you attend - 80% of his tests are based on in-class topics), and he speaks slowly and repetitively so taking notes is quite easy. There isn't much student-prof involvement which makes for a straightforward learning experience if you dig it.

He is a very cute little professor who taught a very interesting class. He does go off on alot of tangents, but everything he talks about is entertaining. What he wants for his assignments is somewhat unclear, and the midterm was ridiculously long, but I would still recommend him as a prof.

BORING! His lectures are aweful, very longwinded and he loses his place all the time. Very easy to fall asleep in his class and hard to take notes becuase he is all over the place. Seems to contradict himself as well at times. Do not leave his class in the middle he will yell! Good material, Boring lectures, Tedious tests. Not recommended!

BORING!!! His lectures are extremely boring and long! He's so dry and monotone, you'll fall asleep or be tempted to skip. Though, it's an easy class, if you can stay awake. The tests are based almost entirely on the text. He is very approachable and eager to help, but I definately recommend taking intro w/ someone else. Too bad Skoog's retired...

Although I loved the class material, I found that unless you are prone to regurgitation for papers, this is not the right class for you. He does not have a great understanding of theoretical approaches that are not covered in the text, and as a result, doesnt reward students who work with additional topic based theory. I was disapointed overall.

this prof is extremely boring and doesnt know what he is doing. anyone can read out of a text book. I recommend for you to find someone else cause ull probably have a hard time with this guy. Plus hes such a hard marker on everything and tests arent that easiy as well.

He was horrible! Very unclear about points he was trying to make, I dropped it last year and am retaking it with somone else, I found that my present prof is more clear and interesting when relating to course material
