This class consisted of mt, final, and mock peace treaty assign. Attendance is taken for credit and each student must present a news article atleast once during semester. He gives vague instructions and lectures are just funny tangents, but you will be left confused. This is a self taught class though, so get book!

At times funny, but seemingly tough. Took him for both undergrad and grad courses. A both times. The FINAL is the only thing too tough. If there were no Finals, this class is Elementary course.

He's a super interesting professor. He clearly has a lot of political experience and even served on the U.N. Lectures are funny and he ends class 10 minutes early to answer student's questions. There were 2 tests and a term paper, All of which were super easy. If you take notes on the lectures, you shouldn't even need the book.

Attendance is required although not needed. "Examples" are long yet their relevancy is a big question mark. The Book is a MUST. All the questions are from the book. NEWS (Easiest A ever (2) is asked to be done. Participation is 5%.

He is a great professor, he makes world politics relatable and interesting. He does get off tangent regularly but his stories tie into what he is teaching. He is a great man that served as a delegate in the United Nations and he also served as an advisor to the president of Bangladesh. The for all the test there are study guides, use them for an A.

Knows a lot about politics & has a lot of experience. Some interesting stories, but he rarely answers questions clearly & makes things more confusing for his students than they should be. His stories & "examples" are a little much. I don't feel like I've learned a thing in class. I pretty much teach myself everything. Sadly attendance is mandatory.

Professor goes on endless rants, if you miss class you will not miss a single thing but he does takes attendance. Has a very thick accent that is hard to make out. He does give his students a cold shoulder very unclear and unhelpful. TEXTBOOK is required. One midterm, final, paper, and participation make up your grade. AVOID if you can! :/

He is vibrant and funny during lectures but gives students a cold shoulder before and after lectures. Lectures were hilarious but off topic and did not prepare students for his surprisingly difficult exams. He did a bad job of explaining concepts and used an older version of textbook for lectures and exams. Easy "B" and "C" but difficult "A".

For a level 200 class, this information seems to be very 100 leveled for a good portion. However, the professor often goes into tangents, even on simple questions. Apparently, the tests are made entirely from the book, and the in class notes are basically read from the book. Very combative at times, but not impossible to do well. 1 paper, 2 exams.

I had him for 350 and 200. Really funny guy! He's the kind of professor that goes on tangents and forget he's teaching. You learn most of the information from the book. The book is a MUST. His lectures help sometimes, but overall, I'd look to the book. The class is all definitions. Learn them = A+

Funny Professor. I also had him for 200.He does tell a lot of stories. Both class are taught the same. He gives you a study guide, and teaches right from the guide. Read the chapter and define the terms, and you'll be set. 1 paper that is fun, but you do have to make a 1 min speech. One news article from BBC or Economist. Attendance is mandatory.

Really did not like taking this class with this professor, but I had to because it is my major. You do not want to sit in the front because he will pick on you. Went to his office for help all of the time for help. Glad that I do not have to take him again.

Dr. Shamim is hilarious! Everything somehow relates to his country even though the class is WORLD POLITICS! lol Just read and know the terms. For the midterm, really pay attention to the various theories! And for the final, just memorize terms. His "essay" for the final is just you defining TERMS in a world sense. Easy class! have fun!

All he does is tell stories about Bangladesh, but man is he funny. He goes over the terms very slowly, you don't accomplish much every class. Test is based off study guide terms, which if you can define from the book you'll get an A. Final wasn't too bad, just a lot to study for. Studied for 20 terms, had to pick 5 out of 10 chosen that day.

I read these comments before choosing him and I thought "he can't be that bad" OH HE IS. I didn't learn a single thing. All he does is tell stories and use "examples" to teach key terms which are actually excuses for him to tell stories. If u read the book, and teach yourself you will get an A. But you won't learn a thing besides Shamim's lifestory

He is a really funny guy who knows alot about political science. He goes off on random tangets that can last FOREVER, but they are usually funny. His accent is a little hard to get use to, but when you get the hang of it, things get easier. The book is your best friend in this class.

This is an easy class. Yes, it seems like he goes off topic, but if you follow along, he's actually TEACHING you the material and using examples to illustrate his point. He's funny, you get a study guide for the midterm early in the class, and as long as you know the key concepts you should have no problem with the course.
