Very good Professor. She is very lenient when it comes to due dates. She is also very understanding but you have to put in the effort if you wanna get a good grade. All we did was discuss assigned chapters and wrote 4 or 5 essays. Taking her again currently.

She would come into class 5-10 minutes late everyday and would yell at us for not being able to talk about 1 chapter for 40 mins. Handed in my first assignment early September and didn't receive anything back until almost December. Very harsh grader and it's impossible to improve on your writing if assignments are never given back. HORRIBLE PROF!

Dr. Carlson is NOT a good professor. She is a personable person, but she shows up to class late every day, doesn't discuss the source material well, and then expects the world of you in papers. They're graded with insulting harshness and she even LOST my paper! She doesn't respond to emails & only gave two essays the entire class was based on.

Listen very closely to the assignments. Not a lot of tests but papers are everything. Very forgiving but only the first couple of times. Very tough grader.

I thought this was gonna be the best class ever because she rarely showed up and rarely taught the materail, but then the final came and she still expected us to know EVERYTHING. dont waste your time unless youre prepared to read and understand A LOT by yourself

i never read any books she assigned. just went on spark notes. didn't find her to be a tough grader. she's vague on her instructions for the presentation but there's no wrong way to do it. she's very witty, has a nerdy sense of humor. i thought she was hilarious. i don't like english but she definitely made the class bearable. would def recommend.

The only grades you have are a presentation, a paper, midterm, and the final. If you even just sparknote the readings you should be able to pull off at least a B in the class. Cool teacher talks about relevant things and is hilarious. Makes class interesting. No homework. Would recommend taking for this course.

"Shout-y" is the first word I'd use to describe her. You have to read what feels like 40 books in this class and she spends entire class periods fangirling about them. Fair grader and overall nice Prof.

Very good teacher. She makes some corny jokes that are actually funny and she tells you exactly what is expected. Easy midterm, final, one paper (you'll be fine as long as you pay attention in class). Readings can easily be done using sparknotes. Know the readings and participate and you'll be fine. I'd definitely recommend her.

Practically impossible. You really have to read every book and know them well. She grades everything completely unfairly and unrealistically, which is ironic because when you enter the class she preaches about how she's a "realist" and encourages people to drop the course

She is a very tough grader. BUT the classes basically only consist of discussions and they are as interesting as you make it. Make sure you read all of the books because she will get VERY upset if you don't and you will fail. You will have 4 assignments the entire semester: a midterm, final, presentation, and essay. Not too bad. Just do your work.

We read through the books fast, but she discusses them in class the next day and makes everything easy to understand. If you don't have time to read, at least go to sparknotes. Two essays and two exams. She's really helpful and nice.

She is impossible. DO NOT TAKE!!! FOR REAL! She's never satisfied with anything. One paper she'll say that you need to change this, another she'll say you need to change it back to the way you had it. She picks favorites, and I wasn't one of them. She hands out the worst essays and has the class rip it to shreds. It's humiliating.

She is a great teacher who is passionate about the subject. There are only two essays, the midterm, and the final. She really taught me a lot and you'll do well if you aren't lazy and actually read and study for the tests.
