In class notes have little to do with the homework . The quizzes and tests are much more difficult than the homework or notes. run.

First rule: Don't panic. Chris is the anti-christ at spoon feeding his students answers, so good luck if you are used to professors giving you the answers. You have to think in his class, in fact there's not much teaching so I'd recommend getting a book on it and pray you're not a total klutz in solving math puzzles. He gets an A++ in conversation

Chis has a hard time communicating with students. He talks like you have already leaned all the material for the class without actually teaching you, and then will test you on subjects that he never taught you, and may have only mentioned once.

Leary is a great professor for upper level classes. He is very enthusiastic and makes class enjoyable. Without a doubt, he makes the class challenging in such a way that you learn a lot. We didn't even have a textbook.

His class is waaaay too hard. Everything was taught in R and if you did not understand how to use the program the first day, you are pretty much screwed for the rest of the semester. Labs are easy. Projects are long. Don't wait til the last minute to do those. His tests are crazy difficult. Leary is a great man, but don't take his class.

This class should be renamed "R" 262. Expects you to get a hold of concepts immediately. Cant take good notes. Teaching style is confusing and he refuses to curve. First exam average score was 40%. There are projects and labs to somewhat improve your grade. He is a good guy, but please, dont ever take this class with him if its offered again.

Chris is a genuinely nice guy and really loves math. This makes him a confusing teacher... I took Calc in high school and if I didn't have my awesome notes from then I'd be completely lost in this class. His exams are astonishly difficult compared to his written homework and his fair quizzes. He gives you a lot of opportunities to do well though.

He makes passing this class very difficult. You pretty much have to already have taken a calculus class to pass. He gives easy examples in class and on homework's and then he gives tests with the subject at the hardest possible level. DONT take this class.

Calc 2 is a hard class. Homework is difficult and you will have to study alot. There are homeworks, mymathlab assignments, some quizzes and tests. Chris is very generous when it comes to the tests, hard class but Chris tries his hardest to help you .

Right off the back, you should be "leary about taking Leary." His assignments are impossible. Especially problem sets. They are impossible problems where you have to look stuff up online. If he actually taught then there would be no reason to look stuff up online. If you don't cite resources properly he automatically accuses you of plagarism.

This is probably the hardest class I have ever taken in my life.Chris is an extremely nice, approachable guy but the class is simply unfair.Assigns problem sets that are entirely physics based and barely relate to what we are doing in class. Class averages on tests are in low 70s.I definitely learned calc III but pray to god I can just pull off a B-

Chris Leary is a very nice person, but he is a very difficult instructor. The examples presented in class are the most basic example he could come up with. Tests are very difficult, although he curves them based on a "maximum attainable score." I like him as a person, but I would not recommend a class with him.

Leary is absolutely useless when it comes to Calc 3. This class is seriously causing me to change my major because it's just so bad. He's annoyingly energetic. His tests are impossible based on the examples he gives you in the notes. The problem sets are laughable. The MLC can't even help you with them. Class is mpossible without a physics backgrou

Calc 3 with Professor Leary was literally the most painful academic experience I have ever had. During the semester, I had horrible stress-induced back pain. As soon as the semester ended, gone. He is sarcastic and rude and gives easy examples in lecture and then puts impossible questions on tests. Avoid his classes at all costs. Seriously.

If you have the choice of taking real analysis with him or killing yourself, kiss your mom and buy a shot gun. No book, no lecture, no internet, no fun. If I were a girl I would cry after this class everyday. Graduate late, change your major, sexual favors to the registration people, do what you have to, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Too much relied on tests where the average hovered around 55. When the class met for the final no a single person felt ready. He also relied way too heavily on the text.

Nice guy, annoyingly energetic esp at 8am. Got a B in calc III but should've gotten an A. Used the WORST text (Marsden Tromba). Grade based only off tests which killed me, very hard tests. Class average was a 59. Avoid if you care about your GPA. Calc III is supposed to be easy, and he made it harder than it needed to be.
