Real nice guy who means well. He just cannot communicate fluently (at all) with his students. If you took calc in high school and understood it relatively well you'll be fine. If this is your first time learning it, get a different professor.

I feel like he tries really hard to help out, and he wants us to learn... he just can't. at all. He's a good professor if you don't care about your grade and you need a good laugh.

BY FAR the WORST teacher I've EVER had. Lacks respect for students, because its just 'highschool math' to him. He doesn't speak english in class, so office hours are pointless. Be prepared to learn calc on your own/live in the MLC.

I ended up withdrawing from the class because it was so awful. I had taken AP Calculus in high school so I knew the material. He ended up confusing me! His accent is very rough but understanding what he is teaching you is even harder! After all, to him, it's only "high school math". Be prepared to suffer through this class.

Do not take Calc with Hong Dang. The worst class I've taken so far. Your grade is based only on tests, so you probably won't do that well. I have no idea what he says and he is always skipping steps. STAY AWAY!

Dang had little interest in providing proper materials to learn, and based much of the test material on rare exceptions and embellished circumstances. His accent is difficult to diffuse, but even after you've grown accustomed to the broken Engrish, you're sure to struggle with his asinine 'technique.' The final is worth nearly half of your grade.

If you haven't taken calc already you have little to no chance of doing well with him. Does not explain things and sometimes skips over steps because it's "high school math". Watch what he does because he always says something and writes something else.

Hes a nice man and wants you to do well. Its just hard to understand what he's trying to say. Even without his accent he doesnt phrase things well so don't just listen when he's talking, watch. He may say "x square root y" but writes the square root of x plus y, and such. Use the book, read it and do review before tests. Tests are the entire grade.

if you don't have a strong calc background you will have almost no chance at getting even a B unless you live in the math learning center. everything's "highschool math" to him, but if you never covered it in highschool he won't take time to explain it. if you took AP and just need a calc class, take it and take a nap in class...

This class was review for me from high school, so I got an A quite easily, because I had an EXCELLENT calculus background. i stopped going at the end, because dang taught me nothing. hearing him say "high school math" makes me cringe. i thought people made that up, but he really does say it every class. i enjoyed his silly mannerisms, however.

He hardly speaks english! He does seem like a decent guy, but there's no way to understand in his class. The worst part is he doesn't understand you when you ask a question. I feel bad for the guy, but you need to know!
