Prof. Baldwin is a very caring guy. If you are ever sick or anything, he is more than willing to extend your due date. You HAVE to read the textbook pretty much every night and his grading system is stupid, and he grades you on UNDERSTANDING the material. Overall, a pretty decent professor who is too smart to teach this class.

Professor Baldwin is the single best educator I have ever had. He actually cares about teaching and his style of group note-taking and then posting the notes online for review has been exceedingly helpful. Really knows the material and likes to grade assignments one on one.

RUN THE OTHER WAY took this teacher for Calc 1. the hardest class I ever took. Didn't know how to teach the class because he was way to smart for it. Handed out crazy problem sets for homework and you had to do everything 5 times over to get at least a 6/10 on them. could never get a 10/10 unless to invited a new number basically. 0/10 don't take

Baldwin is a great teacher, although he relies heavily on the use of the textbook. If you can take a lot out of reading the text, you'll do fine. If not, just be sure to go to office hours or ask questions in class so that you do well. Tests are open notes but don't give much time. Overall, great professor.

First of all OPEN NOTE TESTS. Second of all, he really cares about you, after I was sick for 2 weeks he allowed to have the rest of the semester to hand in the assignments I missed. He isn't the best teacher in MATH but everything on the tests is in the notes. If you know how to get through a problem you will be all good. Definitely recommend him!

Grades based on his interpretation of how much you understand, not completeness. Can get 6/10 on hw for getting part of one question wrong. Nice, smart guy, who does explain things decently. HW takes a lot of time to complete. Tests are very challenging, even with notes and computer. Expects you to learn concepts from reading, not in class.

Professor Baldwin is probably the worst professor I have had at Geneseo so far. He doesn't teach the material, just expects you to read sections from the book and understand everything yourself. A ton of class time is wasted on lengthy obscure examples. His grading is based on his 'expectations", not accuracy?! NEVER take calc 3 with him

You don't get a lot out of going to class. The material is hard to teach, and it doesn't help that he's not that great at teaching it. Make sure you form a group to do the homework projects with, because they're difficult on your own unless you're good at using the program. Very smart and very enthusiastic guy. Tests are rather difficult.

If you like math and thinking outside of the box, then you'll enjoy this class. The only thing that made this class difficult is that Prof. Baldwin sometimes skips over details. Having a background in computer science is definitely helpful. The tests aren't too bad, he gives partial credit and they are open bookcomputer.

Baldwin is a really good professor. He always wanted to help me learn the material and was passionate about every topic we discussed. Definitely take him if you get the chance.. As long as you go to class and do the problem sets, you should get an A. Open booknotecomputer was the best thing since sliced bread.

Dr. Baldwin means well, but most of the time is pretty confusing. He doesn't answer questions very clearly, and makes other students in the class answer them. All his lecture notes and homework are online, and his tests are open book so it's not completely necessary to go to class, but his notes can be weird, so it would be easier to go to class.

I just wanted to get him to say coolwhip. Amazing guy, extremely helpful. Lots of personal attention. Labs were challenging, but in a good way. Tests are all open book/note/computer. Class was always interactive. Best class of the semester for me.

He is a really good teacher, but you will have to do a lot to keep up with the labs. He sets aside lots of time for each student, and he's very willing to help. His grading system is weird, but it makes you do more, and he generally curves a little in the end. His personality seems a little fake sometimes. Overall a great teacher; take him!

Pretty decent- class was small and sometimes boring due to lack of class participation. Notes are always online so if you miss class its not too bad- but go as much as possible. Makes you come into grade labs which is annoying but class was still worth it.

Baldwin is an extremely knowledgeable professor and extremely helpful. His classes are pretty straightforward and he posts the lectures online so you really don't have to go to class. He lets you use your notes and the internet for tests which is awesome. Definitely the easiest class to fulfill the Mate Req.

What a wonderful professor. He knows soooo much, and he wants you to learn. His grading style is awkward, but it works out that even if you do something wrong, if you can probe to him you understand the concept you will get credit. Loved Csci188.

AMAZING!! He is so fun and always full of energy! His grading is tough but I found that it encouraged me to try new code that we hadn't covered yet. It was challenging but in a fun way. He was so helpful and readily available that I rarely got frustrated with my labs. His teaching method was also very easy to follow, full of hands on examples.
