Prof Tracy is absolutely fantastic - her lectures and involved and thought-provoking, even though it's such a boring subject, and she's also extremely caring and an easy marker to boot. Take one of her sections if you can! Though her classes are very unstructured, so she might not be for you if you prefer a rigorous schedule.

Although Collett is a very nice lady she seems unfit for teaching. I have not learned a thing is this class despite it being year round because she does not teach. You will do group projects that have little to no instructions and then spend the rest of the year talking about everyone's feelings and problems. You will get a B no matter what you do.

Collet is a nice lady. My class often engaged in what my friends and I called feeling circles where we would spend a large portion of the class hearing about student woes and offering advice. This is nice, however when we were behind on the syllabus it was frustrating and wasteful. Too many classes were cancelled on short notice. But an easy B+

Through the course there was one thing that was lacking: Organization. She was often very scatter brained and while she is interesting and passionate about what she does, I didn't learn a thing. Most classes are group work discussing poetry, which was interesting however not all that applicable to the course.

Everything was group work. She's very unclear and cancelled class half the time (not that I'm complaining). Gave no instruction or taught us anything, there was no information for the only essay we had to write.

Collett is a fun and unconventional professor. She picks great books and encourages class discussion. Evaluation consisted of group seminars and one essay and she encouraged you to be creative and open up to class about your emotions and experiences. This class was a breath of fresh air and I'm excited to have her again this fall for Canadian lit!

Wonderful prof! Very caring and sensitive, friendly and approachable, inspired such interesting ideas and made me feel a lot let nervous about being at university. Although she's very laid-back and negotiates due dates, you DO need to work reasonably hard on papers and presentations to do well. Lots of reading too (four novels!)

Tracey is a very nice lady but brings in personal issues not appropriate for class. Rarely did we ever do anything related to the course or even have to go because of how many times the class was cancelled. I was really looking forward to this class to study literature and was extremely disappointed with the outcome.

Go to Collett's class and don't take advantage of her niceness! Easily the best professor I've had.

Collett Tracy was by far my favourite first year professor. She treated the people in our class with respect and concern for the fact that first year is a very stressful time. Her discussions were extremely thought provoking. She gave me insight into not only my education but life in general. I would highly recommend taking a class with her.

Tracy is very, very unpredictable. Class lengths vary wildly, ranging from 3 hours to 20 minutes. Her marking is easy, but her classes can be frustrating for her teaching style. Though she assigns readings, its a gamble if she takes them up, and she has a peculiar habit of showing irrelevant you tube videos to kill time. Bit of an oddball.

Collett is the reason I am still enrolled in University. She is a passionate, resourceful instructor, and one of the few in my post-secondary experience who actually cared for her students. She will challenge you, she will force you outside your comfort zone. People who are looking for the "accepted" style of pedagogy need not apply.

Her teaching style really clashed with my learning style and the class was too unstructured for me and I found her hard to talk to. Nevertheless, I can see the great value in her teaching style. She focuses on giving her students experiences rather than more specific information. I wouldn't take another class with her, but I'm glad I took this one.

Collett is the type of professor that will change your life if you put the effort it. She's not conventional, and her method requires more works than it seems sometimes, but she rewards her students, is incredibly understanding, and can often become a lifetime mentor for students and writers.

Wonderful and fascinating lady, but terribly unorganized and scatter-brained professor. Classes were entertaining (she loves discussion) but the lack of structure was frustrating. I got an A, but I attended all classes, actually read the books and had a good TA. No rubrics/course outlines/set guidelines because she's anthing but conventional.

A prof you'll love or hate, and I hated. Good person, but she literally walked out of class for about an hour during someone's presentation. Friend of mine didn't turn in the final essay and got a better mark on it than I did, seemingly because my friend talked during every class and I was mostly silent. I did the paper, however. Easy but timewaste

Collett is a teacher either you love or hate. She is not tradition the sense she does not believe in formal classes and loves dicussion. Firm believer in group presentation and personal writing over formal essays and exams. Great Prof to get to know personally.
