Well about him is when I or someone had a question about the assignments on My math lab, unless you have it in writing, he will always just shrugged it off and say "I don't know" and he'd act like he only there because he doesn't have anything better to. On the test he has one of the RIDICULOUS ways of scoring test. Avoid taking him for any math

i took Perez for math 103, and math 11. he was the best teacher i have taken during college. i had visited him during his office hours for help when i miss class or when i don't understand.

I was out of school for 12 years. I really lucked out with Mr. Perez. He is very thorough in his lectures. It felt like everything was coming back to me! I passed his class with 103% do all of your homework on MyMathLab. There's no reason why you cant get 100% on your homework. You are able to do the problem until it is correct.

Notes were easy to follow, made study guides similar to test . If you attended class and kept up with homework should have no problem passing the class. Gives plenty of opportunities to ask questions on homework assigned the night before. Great teacher overall

Comment:

Mr. Perez makes blank notes and recorded lectures available to his students. He does assign quite a bit of HW, so make sure you DO it and UNDERSTAND it. I always asked for help during Office Hours. He does knock off points for minor mistakes, but he also gives you extra credit points when you correct his mistakes during lecture. Good luck!

Avoid taking him, he posts the notes on BB that are easy to follow but his gives a lot of homework and test are extremely hard, only 3 people from my class passed the final exam, the 3 that made it had a B or C.

Class focused more on specifics than key concepts. I think Algebra is harder to learn that way. I.E. some problems on the test weren't discussed in lecture so were difficult to solve on our own. Luckily, Perez was more than helpful via email and responded quickly. Lastly: he is far more flexible with meeting dates than he has to be. Huge benefit.

Not a tough class, but prepare to do the homework if you want an A. Lectures get posted on Blackboard, but try to attend class sessions because he sometimes assigns pop quizzes that you may not know about from the lecture. Pay attention and go to him if you have questions. He is willing to help, but feels intimidated from some students.

Mr. Perez was an okay teacher. His teaching method is to lecture the examples and theories in the section, and then assign homework. What I found unfortunate about his tests is that he gives problems that we don't really touch in class. So, be wary about that. Ask him for help if you need it, sometimes you need more explanation from him.

The worst teacher I have ever taken. He does not understand the material he is suppose to be teaching. When asking him questions his response is usually I don't know. He doesn't follow his own class rules. He makes statistics harder then it has to be. He is kind of ditzy. I took Stats again with Tayar and passed with a B. I dont remember the code.

Perez is far by the worst math professor at Reedley College. He does not explain the material well and does not sound confident when answering questions in class. Even the brightest students in my class were struggling to stay afloat. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Extremely good teacher. Very helpful, patient and makes you understand what it is that he is teaching you. I would highly recommend this instructor to anyone. All those who say that he was a bad teacher, was probably because they were bad students themselves.

He is hard to understand but willing to explain. I felt as if read straight from the chapter. I am the type of math student who love to learn the easy techniques and short cuts and did not receive this from Professor Perez. I dropped the class before I failed.

BEFORE I TOOK THIS CLASS MANY PPL TOLD ME MR. PEREZ WAS A REALLY BAD TEACHER...I GUESS IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUAL...I THOUGHT HE WAS A PRETTY GOOD TEACHER, AND HE GIVES YOU PLENTY OF IN CLASS TIME TO WORK ON YOUR HW SO THAT HE CAN HELP YOU OUT WITH WHATEVER YOUR STRUGGLING WITH. HES NOT A VERY EXCITING TEACHER...BUT ALOT OF THEM AREN'T.
