Dan is a great teacher. Had him for Special Effects class and he breaks down the material so well. He also brings in cool items for class and has lot's of experience to share with the class. He really listens to the students and has a great approach to sharing information. So passionate and knowledgeable on films. Very friendly and understanding.

Comment:

Overall good teacher. Lectures are interesting and easy to sit through. Diverse selection of films (mostly enjoyable films too). Approachable and seemingly easy going. Slightly tough on marking considering an A- in this class is an 85+. A lot of assignments though, plus part of the grading is participation. Would recommend though.

Dan is a great professor. He was my professor for Crime Drama and very clearly has a passion for genre as well as teaching it. Work was paced well, his evaluations were fast and feedback usually thoughtful. My only complain is that he very clearly made his favourite students known and near the end of the course seemed to put them on a pedestal.

Gives very interesting lectures, clear, grades fairly. But don't bother trying to be his buddy unless you're a beautiful woman, he definitely gives off a creep vibe. And for that reason alone, I'll never take another class of his.

Dan has his favorites. I asked him a question about an assignment and he started screaming at me... never had a teacher screamed at me before. Not clear on what he wants on assignments and than the students get terrible grades. You want to LOWER your GPA take his class.

Music in Film was a great course. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and gives great lectures that are very clear. Shows a variety of films and music videos that get you thinking. Friendly with a good sense of humour. Approachable. Writes relevant tests.

Dan is an awesome teacher. not only does he have experience in film and can explain material very clearly and in an interesting way, he has a masters in film studies and a great knowledge of film-especially random cool details. Super layed-back, flexible, nice, supportive, tries to help, cares about his students, available. DEFINATELY TAKE HIM!

Wow, Dan is amazing. Great knowledge of both commercial and artistic film. He allows students their creative vision and actually teaches you what to do. His tests are a breeze... just reread your notes and you'll do well. Any teacher that shows you a portion of Pee Wee is definately amazing. Too bad he only teaches Film 1...

I love Babs. He's helpful and kind. He understands that Film I is about getting your feet wet and not pretending to be pro's (which a lot of the other year I coms profs try.) He really loves teaching and getting his students interested and involved.

One of the best film teachers that i've ever had. knows about modern topics,up to date with his references and examples. Relates to his students. go to class, do the work, and you'll pass with flying colors. Likes the female students a bit more than the males, in my opinion.
