Professor Mackowski is a great professor, he writes the HW assignments and the tests and they are nearly identical. He reviews the HW in class and is really good at explaining the material. You will have to show up to know how to do the HW, and he gives a lot of assignments, but if you put in the work you'll come out with an A in THERMODYNAMICS.

Mackowski isn't too tough as long as you go to class and are willing to put in a little bit of work. He tells you how to do most of the homework problems and lets you bring notes into the test with you. The theoretical understanding might be a little more lacking, though.

Mackowski is super chill. He's a great professor its just a tough class so you're going to have to put in the work for it. Do and learn the homework and you'll be fine. He gives out a study guide before every test which is really helpful.

Mackowski is such a great and laid back teacher. He made Thermo I an easy class for me. He basically spends class reviewing concepts and sometimes doing problems if you ask. He assigns a lot of homework, but the problems are great reviewing material for the exams. The exams aren't that bad if you keep up in class. Take Mackowski!!!

Really loved Mackowski. Being that I had to drop Thermo2 the previous semester due to Dr. Knight's oppressive curriculum, getting Mackowski was a breath of fresh air. Lectures are valuable for completing the homework and thus comprehending the material. Less organized than Knight but far more effective for actually learning. 1010 Would dine again

Dr. MacKowski is awesome! If he's one of your options for a professor get him. Grading is more than fair with lots of partial credit. Lots of homework, but it really makes you learn the material. A good number of quizzes but they are doable. Design project was in groups of 3. Going into the final with a 95. My favorite prof. thus far at Auburn.

Dr. Mackowski is AWESOME. I had him for Human Odyssey and we just sat in a circle and talked about everything ranging from intense philosophy to pure silliness. He graded the weekly summaries very easily. He really brought a great perspective from a scientific background to the essence of the class.

Best teacher for heat transfer. Basically gives you the test in a study guide form that you work through before each test. So, the tests seem trivial. Hw is given twice a week. Design project at the end, which takes maybe three days to complete. He is very good with partial credit as well. No excuse for making less than a B.

Good teacher, hard class. 2 tests and a final. Allowed a certain # of cheat sheets on tests as well as tables in book. Gives weekly hw. Helps your grade a lot. 15 %. No attendance mandatory. Puts notes on website. Go to class, do hw, study the study guides, notes and hw and you can pass.

A pretty decent teacher. Explains things well, but when he delves into theory, it gets boring. First test was good (A), second test was IMPOSSIBLE (F), final was so-so. No curve. Overall course grade was a C. Do the homework (it helps your grade), go to class, ask for help if you need it. Thermo I has a 30-40% fail rate. Good luck.

Mack is awesome, had him for thermo 1&2, A's both times with no effort, avoid Burch like a plague. He gives you the notes he writes on his tablet, he lets you use several cheat sheets on test, plus simplifies the book and give extremely straightforward tests. Do his study guides and you get easy A on test. Also design project for thermo2 is easy.

Had him for Honors Human Odyssey I. Real smart and interesting guy. Field is thermodynamics but is really into playing guitar and music. Class requires significant amount of reading but as long as you have an opinion and you can defend it you will be fine.

He knows his stuff, tests can be really hard and cinfusing or easy, it's a toss up. Helpful in his office (which is a mess), not bad in class as far as answering homework and whatnot. Very slow grading, but pay attention and you should do fine.

Well he started the semester off actually teaching the material, then right after the first test he just faded off and the majority had to depend on the solutions manual to teach them.
