Dr. McDonald is an awesome guy. Really funny and wants you to be able to learn. His tests are a bit tough, but most of it is open ended, so if you are able to explain your answer you will at least get partial credit. Lots of reading for his course, but if you read, the quizzes are cake.

Dr. McDonald is a great guy and a good teacher. He is very smart. There are moments of confusion in course structure/schedule throughout the semester but all-in-all, you will learn something from the course. He gives out good reviews before tests, and if you try to understand major lecture topics, you should do fine on the tests.

This professor was pretty great. He says attendance is mandatory, but if you do well in class, I don't think he minds when you skip. There are quizzes, but they're all scheduled out, so you know when they are, and the class can choose whether they do it or not. There is a lot of reading! Tests are not too hard if you do the labs and reviews.

He was not helpful at all. He gave you one thing to review and tested you over something totally different. He grades VERY hard. I would not recommend taking him.

I just finished with his class for summer 1. He is a nice guy but not a very good teacher. He lectures and tends to go on random rants. He tells you one thing to study, so you go in ready to ace the test and then nothing you studied is on the test. He was no clear what so ever. Can get upset easily. Great guy but I do not recommend him.

Great instructor, recommended. Does a very good job of explaining concepts (answers any and all questions) and using discussions to make students analyze concepts. All you have to do is go to class and think (you will use your brain) to pass his class.

avoid him if you can...he seems cool in the beginning but his lectures don't help you at all and his tests are hard. Im lucky I came out with a C and I am an all A student for the most part. Would not recommend him.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is extremely rude, and his tests have nothing to do with his reviews. He didn't at all keep up with his syllabus and he makes you read about 40 pages in a textbook for a quiz that has four questions. He doesn't explain anything. The only reason I'm passing is because of the huge curves he gives because everyone is failing.

Dr.McDonald is seriously the worst professor that I have ever had in college. I took him for a 100 level class and he taught it like it was a 400 level course. His notes are horrible and he is not helpful. Tests are a killer. DO NOT EVER TAKE HIM IF U WANNA PASS!

took gis in forestry and learned so much more. this class was really a waste of my time. he didn't even teach a lot of the time and when he did he was so unclear he untaught what i already knew from my forestry gis.
