I'd say one of the worst professors I've ever taken here. Lecture heavy and requires community service. Does she not realize we have other classes, work, kids, etc? Like 20 hours of community service, really? Really long homework assignments and really disorganized lectures. If you don't know anything about Hawaii. Just take HWST 107 for more info.

If you don't do your projects right she can and will make you re-do them. Sure if you didn't understand them, but you tried your best. Doesn't matter... do it again.. 3 times the charm right? Very confusing and will make you feel less than. Having no prior knowledge in this field will end some students.

She assigns way work that involves us meeting outside of class times. She is also not sympathetic or understanding at all. She also teaches the class as if everybody already knows what she's talking about, and for those of us who have no experience with Hawaiian history/language/culture, she moves awfully fast. It just was very disorganized.

Very genuine/caring and is very knowledgeable in the subject. However is very scatterbrained and mostly rambles on making class very boring. The TA's give you the answers to the tests beforehand. You pretty much learn the same topics covered in HWST 107. Extremely boring but really easy if you have basic knowledge of hawaiian history.

Her lectures are interesting, but she doesn't really manage to get students engaged and interested in what she talks about. She's a really nice and genuine person and knows what she's talking about. The TA's are super lenient and you don't do much in labs. Tests are super easy. You have to do a community service event for an essay

TA's basically give you the answers to all the tests, and the final project can be hands-on. Attendance is checked, but worth very little of your grade. Just attend labs on Fridays you'll be okay.

WHAT A JOKE! Reads everything off slides which is taken directly from reader so doesn't make sense to attend class. Only b/c she takes attendance did I actually go. Too many umms and ahhs, sounds like porky pig or foghorn leghorn. Lab leaders were good for NOTHING! They didn't help at all, too busy giggling and looking confused. WASTE OF TIME!

Has too much unneccary information on powerpoint slides, reads off of them which makes this class super boring. Unorganized and scatterbrain because she is so into what she is teaching she wants to come every single detail!

This was an oral focus class so much of class time was devoted to student presentations, but when Prof. McGregor did speak, she was always very thoughtful, insightful, knowledgeable and intelligent. She was also very encouraging. The only thing she could work on is being more clear about grading. I didn't know where I stood till end of semester.

Very absent-minded professor. Be prepared to do absolutely nothing all semester...until a 20-page paper and a 30-minute presentation. If that's your style, take it. If you want your work to be evenly spread throughout the semester (like me) then look elsewhere. Thankfully, the class was only once a week.

Overall dissapointed, felt as if I have learned very little and very bored in class. Prof unable to keep my attention or clearly present her points in lecture. It was a very unactive learning style and I did not feel challenged at all.
