You have to go to class. Literally everything on the test is from his lectures. Asks questions like "According to your professor...". We hardly touched the book! Not the easiest class, but if you enjoy psychology and have a good base understanding of it then you will like him.

Great teacher. Tells a lot of stories on his experiences, but deal with the subject matter. Take good notes exams are over the material in lectures. Enjoyed going to his class.

An amazing teacher that truly cares about his students and what he teaches. His stories relate to the subject at hand and are entertaining while making his point. Take good notes to what he says, it will be on your exams. Although not mandatory, he will consider attendance if you need a "bump".

I got an A. You absolutely have to attend class because even though his notes are online, they aren't filled in with information. He gives an extra credit opportunity for three points on your final grade. He tells a lot of stories to illustrate his point. He's willing to help you pass if you do the work. Study hard for the tests and you'll pass.

He has a lot of interesting stories to tell but sometimes it's difficult to know what will be on the tests. Many of his test questions are application which is how most psychology tests are. I'd recommend him to anyone. He's a good professor.

took him for abnormal psych. really enjoyed the class. his tests are from lectures and he has a lot of life experience stories that make it interesting. offers easy extra credit. I went almost every day and took notes and the extra credit and made an a without ever reading the book. great professor to take

I studied my ass off, he talks more about stories than what u need to no for his tests, dont take

I took him for abnormal psych. The material isn't hard, if you took intro it's the exact same stuff. It's difficult because his tests are "in his opinion". Not only do you need to write down notes, but you need to note what his opinion is, which is almost impossible because his tangents go on forever. It's hard to tell if he's just rambling or not.

Took for Abnormal psych. He has some good real life examples but sometimes it's hard to tell what you need to be taking notes on and since tests are based heavily on notes, it can get hard. He was pretty boring but fair and gives plenty of extra credit. Attendance isn't mandatory but he lectures using the chalk board.

His tests are easy enough, skim through the book and you'll do just fine. Where I find fault with Mr. Carpenter is in his excessive use of personal narratives. If his tests were about his life, we'd all make A's. Great guy and very helpful, but going to class is useless. He has the professional experience, but lacks the teaching capability.

This man does not make sense...he says "banana cakes" more than he should be allowed. His tests are estremely hard and not reliable.I did not read any chapters and did not study for the 1st test-I got a C.I read the chapters twice and studied for the 2nd,3rd,& 4th tests-I got C's.He is very systematic and stuck on HIS way of thinking from the 70's.

He's a really nice man, and he teaches well. He just rambles sometimes. His tests are detailed but I would definitely take his class again. Pulled off a high B without really studying. And he gives tons of extra credit

Some of his test questions can be misleading, but overall his tests aren't too hard as long as you study enough for them. He gives out a lot of extra credit for attending various lectures, so I was still able to get an A.

Took him for abnormal psy and he's a nice guy, has a lot of interesting stories, but he talks way too much. Tests get confusing. He likes to have two answers very close to each other. Try to take someone else unless your a pro at sorting out what is important during his 1 1/2 talks.

Interesting class but he tends to get off topic. Class notes are the best way to do well on the test. Most of his lecture is in the text book but going to class really helps with specifics.
