worst class. only a 4 difficulty for time invested. 1 hour class will not prepare u for the work. feels like he thinks people like him, but he def rubs the wrong way. he told our class to shut up more than once, and it feels like he thinks its kind of a charming buddy buddy joke. interrupts during presentation, and makes you feel bad when wrong.

I will build my schedule so I never take Jones again. He makes his classes awful and extremely difficult. Overcomplicates everything and turns fun topics into dreaded assignments. Avoid Jones if you can, or only take him for Concepts and be done with him... Since he's the only teacher for it. Jones is bad news.

Peter Jones is the most arrogant professor I've ever met. If you can avoid his class, DO IT. He gives almost no explanation for what he wants from you and then fails you for not reading his mind. Don't bother going to the lectures. Get a good group. This class is going to take up a lot of your time. May the force be with you.

Jones is the absolute WORST professor at Auburn. His instructions are vague, he never answers questions clearly, and teaches you nothing. When it came to the competition, he and the people helping him run the competition had no idea what they were doing. Rules were changed, teams were cheating, and Jones gave no help even when this was pointed out.

Peter Jones is the worst professor at Auburn because he doesn't have a clear grading criteria at all. He is also very rude to you if you try to ask him questions and he tries to make you look like your dumb in the process. Don't take him at all

Jones has to be the worst mechanical engineering professor at auburn. He grades the homework so hard compared to other teachers and if you try to ask him a question he'll act like you are dumb when you are asking a question. Avoid him at all costs

The people complaining are probably the ones that are not showing up to class.... Or they may need to change their major. Yeah PJ is difficult, but so is mechanical engineering. If you actually try you will learn a lot from him. Really smart dude. he's a nice guy and is approachable. Just be prepared to work hard (you are in college).

DO NOT take Dr. Jones. He gives the most vague instructions on what he wants and 100% expects you to read his mind and turn in exactly what he wants or you fail. He is no help at all in his office; he'll literally talk AT you like you're an idiot. You take 10 pages of notes per lecture, but even those don't help with anything. DO NOT TAKE HIM EVER!

Comment:
Makes the class way too hard. Teaches a ton of material, grades really strict, then gives you a grade based on the rest of the class. Best in the class was an 83, only 11 of 48 people got A's. I got a B with a 72. Grading is unclear, harsh, and inconsistent. One positive is he is approachable at office hours and will help you. Not an easy class.

Do NOT take this man's class, do whatever you can to avoid it. He gives ridiculous homework, some of which are actually impossible. All grades are completely subjective and depend on how he's feeling at the moment. Not helpful in class, "answers" questions with vague condescending nonsense.

This class was horrendous. The assignments were ambiguous, Jones helped absolutely zero. His TA graded everything and was extremely unfair. He said he would curve the class but hardly did. Extremely inconsistent and unclear expectations. I'd say avoid if possible but you can't. Just bite down and prepare for this guy to screw you.

Dr. Jones gets a bad rap for this class. The subject matter is pretty ambiguous and he does the best he can. He's a really nice and engaging guy if you actually pay attention. Homework is worth a lot and you have to get use to the grading style. My tip: write A LOT for each section and pick a simple-ish design that you can make a lot of mods to

I think he changes the course each semester, but homework was %50 of the grade when I took his class. You work on one design problem for the whole semester (by yourself). If the TA doesnt like your project, expect to get 5/6 out of 10. Dr. Jones would usually give points back though. He was never very clear in class. He did scale at the end though

Well this class was pretty terrible. Homework was 50% of our grade and the grading for it was about as subjective as it comes. Lecture is pretty useless, didn't learn anything in there and I went to every class. It's unfortunate because the material is important - but Dr. Jones really needs to get his act together for this class to be effective.

I enjoyed learning design methodology, even though I had little prior interest. The weekly project meetings are very beneficial and will lead to a good project grade if taken seriously.

Good lord this guy is terrible. His homework assignments are the WORST!!!! He grades unnecesarily hard. I went into this class expecting an easy A (which it should be its concepts of design) but god did he make it harder than necessary. Couldn't pay me to take him again. Just an overall not likeable or respectable person.
