Dr. Del Principe is an exceptional professor who truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He teaches students how to think and speak as they do in Italy. The style takes a bit to get used to because in the United States we are typically taught in a different style, however, it works!

Awesome professor. He is a lot of fun in class but he does call on students randomly throughout the class period. He doesn't let you off the hook until you answer the question properly. While this may be scary for some, it is a very effective way of learning and he gives you all the help you will need. There are a lot of pop quizzes and homework.

Great professor! I had lots of fun in his class, and I learned a lot. You have to study and actually try in his class in order to do good. I would take him again if I could!

The class started as a fair introduction. but as time passed and there were still students that were unable to digest and break down the key components to the language and sentence structure, he did not give satisfactory explanations. He also moved too quickly through the material and spoke in complete Italian and had us guessing. Avoid if you can.

Very rude attitude and jumps around too much. Expects you to speak Italian already in a class that is for beginners. Take another Italian professor if you just need to satisfy your language requirement. Horrible professor

Dr. Delprincipe is awesome. He's very understanding and helpful if need be. His class can be a bit difficult if you haven't done the readings or studied to vocab for the day. He really just wants his students to try. If you're a person that sits in the back of the class and prefers to be quiet, he's not the professor for you. Exams can be difficult

I understand now why so many negative comments. I wish I listened to them. Negative attitude in class. Negative way of responding to questions. No real help (is he ever in his office for office hrs?) Does not seem to care whether we learn or not. Hope to have a different professor for 102!

I was nervous for this class because he gives a lot of work. However, if you participate he will like you and will definitely help you. Most people in my class didn't participate therefore they did not receive good grades. Even though I embarrassed myself and did not say the correct answers most of the time I still tried so he gave me a good grade

Wonderful professor! The class I took was hybrid. Sometimes the online program we used would grade incorrectly, but he was always willing to change grades if they were incorrect. He expects everyone to contribute to class lectures, which is understandable since the class is about learning a foreign language. I wish he was teaching Italian II!

THESE REVIEWS ARE CRAZY! He is so nice and very helpful! I have a hybrid class(which is not meant for everyone) so you have to study on your own time for the most part. All you have to do is try and this class won't be hard. Only 2 quizzes and an oral final. Also, online homework each week. Easy A if you participate and do your homework.

This teacher is a very challenging teacher. Although he starts speaking Italian on the first day. This is very hard to follow if you have no prior knowledge of Italian. I would try to steer in a different direction from this teacher.

This class was too hard I had to drop it. It is really difficult because he crams so much work in because it is also a hybrid course. He basically speaks to you in Italian from the first meeting you have with him. If you are not experienced with Italian prior, I strongly suggest you do not take this course.

For someone who has spoken Italian since I was little, I thought that this class would be easy as it should have been. He makes everything so confusing, it's ridiculous. Does not explain ANYTHING at all about class requirements and will not answer questions clearly. Avoid at all costs!

I had prof. Carbon for ITAL 101, and she was great. Del Principe is the opposite of her. He looks like a scoundrel, and he is one. Has a very rude and condescending attitude towards students, speaks negatively about other profs in the department, and does not explain class requirements clearly. Do not take him unless you want to be miserable.
