Comment:
Not a super hard class, but it's so boring. He has such a monotone voice and the lectures honestly put you to sleep. He assigns readings from 3 different textbooks every single night, plus articles sometimes, and expects you to read every one and answer questions the next class. Overall, it's not terrible just extremely boring and lots of reading.

There are only 3 main grades, tests. they are 25 MC and a 3-6 page paper that makes you expand on some of the MANY readings. There are 3 textbook and you will read through all of them. In class all notes you take will be from what he says and he is very monotone and hard to understand. He is also very old school which makes things even harder.

Very long and boring lectures, spent more time talking about what we ARENT covering rather than what we are covering. Hard to understand. Not a bad guy, just not a good teacher.

Friedreich's seems boring at first but if you get past his voice his lectures are intriguing. I love him and his class; you read a lot but all the readings are SUPER interesting. Read, take notes based off his lecture, and study the terms and you will get an A. I highly recommend him, Friedreichs is great, funny, and is super smart.

Lectures seem so long because he can be very boring at times. However, he is a really nice guy and if you need help gives it. It is ALOT (ALOT being an understatement, he uses three different books that you have reading assignments in ALL three after every class) of reading but if you really study and do all the readings you are bound to do well.

He is boring beyond belief! His notes are very hard to understand, and he's very monotone. If you take him, be prepared to read. He uses three books, and you'll read all of each book by the end. His tests consist of 25 MC and a 3-6 page essay- pretty ridiculous for an intro course. He really expects you to be an expert on soc. No papers.

Friedrichs lectures are dry and hard to pay attention to. Theres a ton of reading that he assigns and you have to read from 2 books because tests are based solely off readings. He does not give you study guides. Only take if you like reading a lot and like studying a lot for tests. Essays on tests are usually 3-6 pages long along with about 25 M.C

Friedrichs is the man! He may be dry in lectures and a little abstract sometimes, but his classes are a piece of cake and he knows his stuff. Seriously, all I did was read the book and the articles and I got 2 A's with him, no problem. All ya gotta do is read!

Boring to all H***. Tests come from questions the book people make. Gives a TON of reading from many books. If you are taking classes which also require reading don't take him then. If no then al long as you can remember what you read you could do fine.

Please do yourself a favor and not take this man. He is very distant from his students because he is such an academic book worm. He teaches with the lights off, its boring as hell and he is an unfair essay grader. Hurt my GPA because i was interested in this class and now have to have him twice.

One of the most intelligent people you will ever meet in your life. IF you pay attention you can learn a lot from him. It is not hard to get an A in any of his classes, the syllabus practically spoon feeds you what you need to know.
