This course has a few EASY papers and 3 pretty crappy map quizzes to study for, but other than that, it's a cakewalk. Dr Helgren's been everywhere and he's got stories that tie into the course and an endless supply of trivia about the peculiarities of far away lands and other random facts make the class tolerable and enjoyable.

He makes an uninteresting subject interesting. I almost considered going on with an MA in geography. He prepares you well for exams. Just be on time, read assigned pages, do the work, and study. If you show up on time and put some effort into it, you won't feel like you've wasted time or money.

Extremely knowledgeable, very bright man. Makes dull content interesting. A true University Professor. Very concerned about me as a student. I was distracted by dummies in the class who were not there to learn.

He is really knowledgeable and interesting. He's very clear about assignments and doesn't ask much - just that you come to class and listen, write 3 papers related to the reading, and take 3 map quizzes and 3 tests. Easy class and interesting - his lectures are fun.

He sucks! Don't ever take this teacher! His lectures have nothing to do with the tests. He grades extremely hard for no reason. He is vague about everything, and you don't know what he expects of you until it is too late.

I think Helgren is a great professor. He is very intellgent and he loves to tell stories of his life experiences. If you dont find his jokes funny, its because you dont have a sense of humor. I recommened this professor.

Great experience, great class. He really knows the subject matter, plus although most of his jokes are indeed stupid, at least he tries to make the class more than just a lecture. Plus, If one just follows his directions, the class is very easy!

Dom Deluise look-a-like, one of most difficult teachers ever. Lame jokes directed at the elders in the class who, like him, grew up during the Civil War. Eeked by in his class with a C-, and value it as much as any of the A's. If you can avoid him, do so
