You can just skip all his classes cuz all he does is read from the slides and 'try' to answer questions with the answer 'I don't know... that's a good question' and move on. Try to read the book yourself and do reviews, that would be a better[way better] alternative to class. Lab tests aren't particulary easy.. so study hard

Probably the worst teacher I have had thus far. Lectures were lame and I didnt even bother going. All he did was read the slides and didnt know the material very well. I probably could have done as well a job as him with my knowledge. Worst professor Ive had, but it's not like you can do anything about it. He is 1/2 of the course regardless.

His lectures are pretty boring, but he does have his 'redeeming' points, like dancing in class.

Recommended proff. He'll probably never live down the "ape massacre" but at least he made up for it by having easy questions for his section of the final.

He was alright, a little slow but it was okay. He mostly knew his stuff but he didnt know how to make a test. He screwed people on the midterm if they hadnt put a huge effort into memorizing specific sections. Beware of how he can put little emphasis on a subject but test it heavily.

Levin is by far my favourite bio prof, at least thus far. He's interesting, knowledgable, and even humourous at times. He looks just like Peter Sellers to. Brilliant!

Nice guy, see below for more comments. BIOL401B is a bit disappointing though, as many of the steps in the experiment are done as a single gel, membrane, etc. for all the groups, making it less hands-on. You do learn about some interesting techniques, though.

The class was good, he managed to make it interesting but it was his first time teaching a first year class and yes he did totally SCREW US ALL on the midterm, but now he knows (I hope)

-presents the topic well, good notes, well organized, makes sure you understand the basics. BUT watch out on tests! this guy managed to SCREW most of the class when he focoused 30% of his test on ONE small topic--totally unfair.

Good class with lots of interesting content. He mainly reads notes directly from slides; doesn't add much. In the end, he encourages class participation and open debate about hot-button issues in biotechnology. He's friendly, approachable, and willing to go the extra mile for the students.
