He is an amazing professor! I definitely recommend taking any course that he is teaching. His lecture slides are clear and concise. He is available after class and during office hours to answer questions or have a discussion on any topic.

The content is super interesting and you can get pretty much all of it just from the lectures. The larger reading for the final paper is extremely necessary to read, but I did well (high 80s) with only skimming one or two of the others

boring, rude, and offensive when he thinks he is being funny. Not helpful at all, tells you you're on the right track then fails you for what you wrote. ignores emails, takes attendance every class. tells students he doesn't understand why they can't get it when everyone else can when they go to him for help, etc. wouldn't recommend

Great professor! There were 5 tests worth 20% each in the class. So as long as you study the lecture material and read the textbook then it's very possible to get an A+ in the course. I definitely recommend taking this course with him!

Lecturer is either too slow or too fast in his speech. The slides don't seem to flow well with his narrating. The worst part of this course is the exams. Way too specific, and not enough time (30 minutes to answer 30 questions). Do not take his online courses.

Really good prof. Would make sure that material was understood before continuing. Although it is a Religious Studies course, the religious component is small. Which is nice. He is also easy to reach most of the time. Great Class!

Class is super easy if you actually attend class. There are a lot of readings but I didn't actually read them and I still got an A. Test questions are a bit ambiguous which makes them kind of hard. Two small assignments which are from the readings. Take this class!

He's an amazing prof. He's really funny as well. So helpful. Tough course because there are A LOT of readings. He's very fair in marking tests and assignments. He takes attendance (worth 10%) but it motivates you to come to class for easy marks.

Super interesting course although IT IS NOT EASY! Tons of readings and the tests are stupidly and randomly detailed. The material is very interesting (especially to a PACS major) but this is NOT a bird course. Way too hard to be first year. I'm third year and I had to work harder in this course than any other I was taking at the time.

I took RS121 online but I must say it was my best class! Dr. Seljak possesses great clarity when explaining and pronounces words/names perfectly fine. He likes to relate things to the students level to make it easier for us to understand concepts. Slides are very important so make sure to pay close attention because questions are very precise.

By far the most boring class I have ever taken. If I had known that this was not a bird course, I would not have taken it. So much reading for a 30 question M.C. test!

Hard tests, yet they mainly focus on overall concepts; however many questions are arbitrary, and you will end up scoring lower because you forgot a little detail. He tries to make things interesting, but sometimes drags on. Was consistently late. Hard marker - low class average.

Evil was a good class. Try to make it to lectured for bonus questions on tests, but you can easily rely on his powerpoints (provided on ACE). You don't have to read everything, but make sure you do a good skim of the material for testing. Funny and entertaining in class, but can often get off track...which is sometimes a welcome break.

Evil was the birdiest bird course in the history of bird courses. Skipped about 70% of his lectures, still passed easily. Just skim over his lecture notes, and take guesses on the tests. He himself is rather funny, but the topics are so boring. Take evil if you want an easy pass with little work.

Unfair exams, it's a lot of material for a few MC questions and not a lot of time to do it in. I feel like the classes could be more interesting though, the things he talks about have the potential to be interesting, but class tends to be boring. And its a lot of reading.

Found his lectures have no flow, it's difficult to follow what he's talking about. Tests are pretty hard, 31 multiple choice questions and 20 minutes to answer them. Can be funny at times, very dry sense of humour though. TA marked the papers really hard.

I took evil in fall 2005 and this was by far the easiest first year course I've ever done. 3 tests, no exam, no paper= golden! After i finished he sent asked me to switch my major to RS. Some of the books were dry and he expects a Christian background from his students and is unwilling to explain theology that should be aparent. I got 89 easily.

He tries really hard to get students' attention by returning tests LATE. Late as in weeks after. But he got two TAs to help him. It was supposed to be a simple course but his M/C questions are very hard. I felt like taking a level 300 course. He thinks he's so good by not responding to my email. That's why he's stuck in Waterloo for his whole life.
