She is the sweetest professor ! Everything that was taught in Soc241 was important to me because it applied to understanding medical world especially insurance companies. Her exams are not that difficult but is a lot of reading.

She's a really nice person but I'm not sure how much I really learned in her class. Also, I think she grades pretty unfairly. I'm trying really hard to like her because she's such a nice lady but her class wasn't that great.

Comment:

Sociology of Medicine was a great class. I learned so much and the class was very helpful especially considering the current state of health care in this country. Too much reading is assigned but pick and choose and do what you can--you won't be graded on everything you read. Merrill is very nice and her enthusiasm for the class makes it great

She is an incredibly sweet person, and her love for the subject she teaches helped make the otherwise dry material interesting! I liked her a lot, even if it was not my favorite class in the world. She realizes that everyone just takes it as a perspective so she makes it as painless as possible

she's nice enough but discourages opinions that aren't like her own. this is a VERY bad example of a soc class.. talked about how we "felt" about families rather than studying the family as an institution... i leave class feeling dumber. very bad!!
